  1. Yes the red necks are stealing everything even from them selves.Remember the Luxon mantra locals know what is best for locals .Well thats well and truly gone aint it .Another lie swallowed by the idiots that were bribed by the false tax cuts that were clawed back in the first 1oo days by increased government charges .Remember the rush to repeal 3 waters, now the locals are being told they have to join a government regulated more expensive scheme. Now we are going to lose another form of local by local and not a Maori to be seen doing the stealing is there ,as the thieves are white red neck corporate raiders .

  2. ECAN is a disaster that has either shamelessly advanced dairy interests by political intervention or shamelessly advanced Maori interests by political intervention (who also have their own massive dairy interests) and us now a bloated woke dysfunctional bureaucracy.
    Absolutely scrap it.

    1. Yes John Key sacked the former council and put his dairy farmer mates in charge They then rampaged down the rivers taking all the water then drilled baby to get what was left under ground .Now the current council has been hijacked by a new wave of farmer members who continue to put profit first no matter the damage done .Now they have destroyed the water sources they have become a fucking joke and are now trying to blame Maori .

  3. ‘The Government will take back power from local councils if their decisions are going to negatively impact economic growth, development or employment.’ NZ Herald quote
“Take back power’ implies that local councils derive their authority from governments – not from the people who elect them. An interesting turn of phrase.
‘Negatively impact’ and negativity, or positivity, is decided by whom? National Party donors?

We have ourselves to blame for dismal voter turnout for local elections. It is puzzling how little interest people take in the authorities directly responsible for if your house is flooded, if you have public transport nearby and if a builder is allowed to put up a high rise apartment block that blocks out all your morning sun.

A positive that could come out of the debate around this law is more public attention about the role of local government.

  4. Potaka has become the latest anti Maori Maori in the current government .He is looking at defunding an NGO that is getting Maori to enroll to vote .His white masters have clearly told him we dont want any Maori voting in future so get rid of these by Maori for Maori people .
