  1. Entirely agree. One day a log tuck will roll and the slaughter could be horrendous. One train takes dozens of log truck equivalents, and does this away from other traffic. The wear on roads is proportional to the fourth power of weight per wheel (as I understand; someone may correct me) and thus contribute exorbitantly to road damage; if road charges were also proportional to the fourth power of weight, that might send a fair message (bikes would only amount to pennies, so probably no need, other than on principle, to charge them).
