Post Leo Molloy – Auckland Mayoralty Winners, Losers & Predictions

With Leo Molloy stepping aside, the Auckland Mayoralty becomes far more intense. Molloy had bewilderingly activated a vast chunk of angry Auckland vote that never bothers to vote and pulling them into the electoral franchise was going to be a cultural event in of itself.

Auckland is a crime encrusted shit hole with groaning infrastructure gridlock amidst a cost of living crisis that is never ending.

It’s as fun as bathing with piranhas wearing bacon togs.

The vested interests of Auckland’s big money bribes Auckland Council Bureaucrats while the elected representatives lend legitimacy to this farce of democracy.

There are of course winners and losers in the 8 week count down till the election.

WINNERS:

ZB – Wayne Browns bombardment of radio advertising on ZB and his jump in the polls is a reminder that ZB is just such a monster network now that any advertising spend has real world impact.

The Spinoff – They managed to woke kill any joy in the world with their pile onto poor Guy Williams for having the audacity to try and make a sad world smile.

Labour, Greens & Auckland Left – Leo had a real chance of overthrowing the applecart here and the lacklustre support they’ve managed to give Efeso has been pathetic. Jesus, they didn’t even know one of Efeso’s websites had been pranked from them for 6 months! The much vaunted ‘muscle’ of Labour, Greens and the Auckland Left have no excuses now. If Labour had lost the Auckland Mayoralty 12 months out of the general election, it would have been shell shocked.

Qanon feral lunatics: These fucking freak shows are infiltrating local council elections all over the country and secretly hiding their connection to Qanon and the Anti-vaxx movement. As soon as TDB becomes aware of one of these freaks, we will publish a list outing them.

Lisa Lewis joins race: All I care about in this election now is that adult entertainer Lisa Lewis sits next to New Conservative Christian Morality Candidate Ted Johnston in every debate moving forward. Please God let this happen.

Auckland – With Efeso Collins a real possibility for winning now, Auckland could see it’s first Pacifica Mayor, which when you consider Auckland is the largest Pacifica city in the world is about bloody time!

Simon Wilson – His burning hatred of Leo Molloy was so intense, it almost eclipsed The Spinoff’s hatred of Leo. Simon will be skipping that Leo’s lumpenproletariat won’t make the libraries Simon likes to visit smelly and overcrowded any time soon.

LOSERS:

Guy Williams – He was cancelled by the woke for making people laugh at Leo and because he’s such a snowflake he allowed their criticism to get to him. He really should have just told The Spinoff to go fuck themselves.

Viv Beck – There’s no point her being in the race any longer, there will be intense pressure behind the scenes for her to step down and allow Wayne Brown free run to buy the election.

PREDICTIONS:

Where does Leo Molloy’s support go to now? If he gives a candidate his endorsement, it could be the difference between winning and losing.

Efeso on paper wins, but his base are notorious apathetic on Election Day.

Barely a third of Aucklanders even bothered to vote in the 2019 Mayoralty election with a result that is one of the lowest in the modern age. The pathetic postal ballot, the lack of awareness of the issues and candidates, the frustration of the gutted councils that have no real power all combine to make this a pretence of legitimacy masquerading for democracy.

What mandate can you possibly claim with barely a third voting?

The election will be between Wayne Brown buying it via ZB or People’s Hero Efeso Collins

Apathy will be the winner on the day. Democracy in Auckland is like an expensive cycle way that only Simon Wilson and the staff at Spinoff use.
