  1. And on it goes .The attempt to shut down the treaty has failed ,so now we will attack women in the work force ,eliminate work place safety ,shut down the construction industry and now we are going after local councils because they have not built enough pipes and roads for the property developer to exploit .In the mean time we will just slip another 100000 unemployed people into the country calling them students at the same time as we are closing polytechs and under funding the Universities these fake students are supposed to attend .They will be competing with the 200000 on main benefit for the 200000 jobs that done exist .Already we hear of up to 1000 people applying for a single job .Sadly a large proportion of the 100000 will neither be educated or employed for a full 0 hour week .However some will be exploited by their fellow country men and will be subject to abuse and poverty .

  2. What’s a vanity project? Is it like a Ministry of Regulation or a Productivity Commission?

    1. Or Charter Schools?

This is all part of the same scheme. You can’t have dissenting local voices when you’re trying to establish a dictatorship.

  3. Well people should know by now what sort of a government they are going to get at the next election as the bald one has already said he supports privatisation of our public education and health systems. If they want this then they will vote for it. In the meantime, the government is beating up on the local council, blaming our last government for overspending (during covid) and compromising our environments while at the same time rewarding their big wealthy funders.

  4. We will see Ada, our economy is not doing very well, many people are struggling to pay the bills and many have left. And why is our PM getting his knickers is such a knot over being called out over his parties ECE policy, not delivering as promised. And why would Labour release their policies now when the election is 14 months away. Nah! that would be dumb to show your cards now, better to do the mahi and be ready come election time to get rid of the clowns ruining our country.

  5. Wont be many quality people standing for election at the up coming local body elections will there .Why would you put your head on the block while these cunts are in government .

  6. “Willis said it was fair to expect councils to do the same cost reduction as central government.”
The NZ economy is already struggling and further falls to domestic demand will lead to more unemployment and business closures. The forecasts for the June quarter are already recessionary.
This could have really bad economic outcomes for jobs and growth.

  7. Honestly, to be honest, I think they are AI beginners Ada. Get something novel.
Toilets are needed for people, and especially tourists. Bike lanes have been promoted for weaning us off petrol, and because it’s trendy and appeals to middle-class Greens; they are also needed for pregnant mothers about to drop. and as ambulances are less funded, needed for patient rickshaws, impatient to get to ED. MMP gets blamed for being the right thing in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was meant to enable people to see their votes counted for something. But neoliberalism came along and stymied any good it could have done.

The only unnecessary burdensome thing around is the right wing political parties that we definitely can’t afford – if they aren’t bleeding us dry then they have some mate that charges us for standing 5 minutes on a space in the street that they have bought ,and are moving us on or defoliating us despite us saying ‘Leaf us alone’.

  8. Bullshit Frank. The central government has driven the problem by washing their hands (no doubt with nitrate filled water in some regions) of any solution. To hear the screeching idiot Willis go on about candy and babies is vomit inducing.
