  1. Well, this sounds like a great way to lower prices for new immigrants.

Sucks for everyone who, y’know, at least already lives here on the hook for a floating rate mortgage where rates have skyrocketed in the last couple years, and which will certainly not be coming down.

  2. I would just about prefer to call it a kakistocracy – run by the least competent but more personable (i.e. identity politics)

  3. Where is the quarantine village that Bishop said he would build a couple of years ago .I would have thought he would have that under way by now .Oh thats right, all the new tradies have left to go to Aus .Nats are pleased as fuck to see the mass brain drain as it makes the unemployment figures look less than it really is .I note there has been a 14% increase in people receiving the work ready benefit in the last 6 months .Add those 15k to the 50 k that have left and we have a 60k increase in unemployment .

  4. Comprehensive piece from our esteemed editor.

All I can add are some organisational points…
-work on NZ Labour to finally retire Rogernomics and work with Greens and TPM.
-elect a class left NZCTU leadership who support direct action
-reform a united NZ Communist party inviting all with a Marxist world view
    -organise at community level

The last time the NActs deregulated building/housing we later received a multi-billion dollar leaky home repair bill. So they have form.

I’m pleased to note that at least Hooton is calling out the housing devt/immigration relationship/scam.

    1. I agree with R Christie. Some basic long=term universal matters need to be read. referred back to, added to and read again in light of further happenings. Ongoing to check FTTT. So where will it be put Blogmeister? The peeps want to know.

  6. Maybe the South Island should go it alone?

There is a South Island Independence Movement working towards this aim.

  7. Cards on the table. I vote left.

But the status quo situation on housing has resulted in a housing disaster with our young people having no realistic prospect of owing a house. So given continuing to do what has been done before is not a recipe for resolving the situation maybe we should give Chris Bishop a shot?
