NZ Jews Say The Government Is Rewarding Genocide – Dayenu

New Zealand Jews are appalled by the Government’s decision not to recognise the Palestinian state.

“Today’s announcement that the Government continues to refuse to recognise the State of Palestine is nothing but cowardice,” says Asher Wilson-Goldman, spokesperson for Dayenu: NZ Jews Against the Occupation.

“While Israel’s genocide continues to massacre people in Gaza, our Government refuses to even do the bare minimum.

“People across New Zealand have been demanding our Government take action for years, but Winston Peters, Christopher Luxon and Cabinet aren’t brave enough to do even the basics.

“At a time when countries around the world are finally waking up to Israel’s crimes, even our Australian friends, the NZ Government can no longer pretend to have any moral authority.

“At this rate, New Zealand will go down in history as one of the few countries that continues to aide and abet this genocide. This government has made this our country’s legacy.

“Dayenu: NZ Jews Against the Occupation will continue to stand alongside our Palestinian sisters and brothers and demand the recognition of Palestine, sanctions against Israel and the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador,” said Wilson-Goldman.
