School lunch woes: Halal issues and food waste hit West Auckland schools
After weeks of late, unsuitable or unsavoury school lunches, two West Auckland schools had their first opportunity to speak to an actual person from the group behind the revamped lunch programme.
Massey Primary School has been receiving Pita Pit wraps or sandwiches for the past nine days and Lincoln Heights has had butter chicken for 11 days out of 17.
They are two of scores of schools across the country that have had issues with the new programme, introduced by the coalition Government to save taxpayers $130 million a year while maintaining nutritional standards.
Shouldn’t we collectively ashamed of this corporate slop we are feeding to our children?
Shouldn’t we be disgusted that our hatred towards parents unable to feed their kids justifies our spite and malice towards those children?
Shouldn’t we be angry at how corporate welfare for a massive translational with an appealing record of food has cut 2000 local jobs?
Aren’t our children worth more?
Shouldn’t we be able to feed our kids from the best kai on the planet?
Why are we giving rich landlords a $3billion tax cut while our children are fed this slop?
How much must you have hated Jacinda for this cruelty to be acceptable to you?

Well I wondered how much tax payer money is actually spent on Bellamys MP lunches and googled it.

Way back in 2009 the bill was $316,000 per year. Around $40 per pollie per work day. So over 16 years ago an MP lunch was over 10 times what they spend on kids today. Literal troughing.
NZ is no longer the country i grew up in but a cesspool of corporate greed and political corruption.
School lunches, go back to the old system and fuck corporate greed and the cost to the taxpayer, Its a civic duty to support the most vulnerable. I’m more than OK to pay more tax.
Exploitation of immigrants, lets face reality we all know the culprits. Once convicted strip them off their assets, pay the victims and anything left over hopefully its enough for a one way ticket back home. Lets face facts you are not a reputable person and should be stripped of residency which you likely got by slipping through the back door.
Politicians, lets go back to the way of the ancient Greeks. An examination of finances before and after elections, sudden wealth? you better fucking explain how or face the consequences.
Housing crisis? Any ghost houses where the parasites sit on them for capital gains, tax them at quadruple council rates so its uneconomic to leave them empty. Win/win.
Unemployment? Use the extra rates to put the unemployed to work teaching them employment and life skills with the caveat they get minimum wage to start.
Health crisis? The ER is not the place to take your snotty kid to because you cant afford the Doctor, set up wellness clinics teaching the parents the basics of health care to ease pressure.
All dental care is free but to qualify you have to do a certain amount of work for the benefit of your local community. Think of it as bartering.

Our esteemed Editor often poses-“is this what we are, what we have become?…” and the answer for at least half the population seems to be yes-dark, selfish fuckers.
“Feed the kids” is viewed as calling for socialism now. Many countries feed their school kids including wealthy Scandinavian ones-they do it so there is no doubt pupils are ready to learn. As teachers, educationalists and teacher aids know, hungry kids don’t learn well.
The Act vandals have destroyed a system that was working well for a twisted ideology, the uptake of the slops regime is falling according to a number of schools, so the Epsom twerp will no doubt now move to can school lunches for good.
I see the childless crazy cat lady media is moaning again.
Why not just say “Thankyou?”
It’s strange that politicians like pouring money into, and being seen at, the elitist Americas Cup where little NZ “punches above its weight” but they are not interested in giving kids school lunches that punch “above our weight”.
Why can’t NZ compete against France for best school lunch !
