  1. Other than Emil Donovan’s Tonight Show, RNZ is a shadow of its former self. Is a regular poll going to increase its audience? Probably not. Should a state broadcaster be funding polls? Seems highly unwise under the current government.

  2. More polls the better, the mincing Farrar, Roy Morgan and TVNZ efforts are not enough.

There used to be Colin James “poll of polls” when there were a dozen or more reasonably credible political soundings.

  3. Interesting stuff, I have written to media watch / Colin peacock (who did work for BBC at some point) a number of times without any response regarding their complete lack of comment on the Palestine / Israel issue and the bias for Israel that is in all MSM.

I think RNZ which goes for much of the time in our household is pretty much appalling these days.

You listen to the panel where wallace chapman has the opinion makers, the decision makers etc. well talk about bullshit, whether you wear pyjamas, how long you spend in the shower it is embarrassing that this is on state funded radio.
The less said about the unintelligent Jesse what’s name the better, he is asleep at the wheel much of the time.
The producers of these shows should be crawling under the table.

I think saturday mornings has improved now they have Mihi Forbes on. Jim Mora’s show is intelligent interesting listening. I loathe music 101 because she has a very very limited vocabulary.

I think the detail is good, Mata is excellent – I am disappointed in culture 101, when do we ever get to hear poets, why don’t we have a proper segment of poets reading their poetry, its not like we have a dearth of them, they are mostly forgotten in our society.

No I am not a fan of Emile, his many endless pauses, and that stupid stupid quiz, very tedious. I am all for Maggie Tweedie.

Pacific waves (this is excellent Don Wiseman, Koroi Hawkins) Susana Suisuik, The Sampler, Trevor Reekie (his knowledge of world music is truly astonishing) anything with Claire Buchanan on the environment, Phil O’Brien, Simon Morris, all worth listening too.

I was surprised and pleased with Ingrid, she is on task and HE SHOULD GO well past his use by date.
I love Guyon with 30, he is a treasure and I’d like him back on morning report. The best inquiring journalist we currently have on radio.

Seymour should have to go on State radio for interviews, he is a public servant and needs to be accountable to all people not just the plunket and hosking listeners.

I listen to midday report, which is fine but World Watch basically ignores the Gaza conflict because the Zionist lobby will complain and that just gives RNZ more work.

We need some proper debates around our foreign (JOKE JOKE JOKE) policy, all the shit that is going on in our country by these morons right now, live debates such as we have during the run up to elections. The environment minister could be first on the rack for that sort of thing along with Norman from Greenpeace. The minister would get eaten and that would be great entertainment. Following this we could have proper debates each time with the relevant minister on housing, poverty, education, school lunches (which are a given in France and the Uk) … so many topics.

I am very pleased that they got rid of Bryan Crump (know all on everything!) as he is no longer driving me up the wall but is driving my sister up the wall as she listens to Concert radio.
