…she is using an order in council to add or remove guns from being banned that completely sidesteps any public consultation at all to allow the sale of the sociopaths favourite faux machine gun getting sold in NZ again!
Nicole McKee has spent the week claiming Labour are lying about ACT removing the ban on these semiautomatic guns by arguing that because 300 pest controllers have access to these types of guns, there is technically no ban and ACT can’t lift a ban if the guns are already available to these pest controllers!
The sophistry of their bad faith argument makes you feel less confident about ACTs ultimate goals here.
This whole process is being rammed through with little focus on public safety and total focus on the arms industry gaining access to selling these guns again in NZ!

My brother-in-law is a gun nut and member of a club. He wants a semi-automatic rifle so he can waste time and money putting holes in a paper target on a shooting range. He also wants a pistol to do the same.
