Maybe Luxon is the shallow & mean spirited PM that NZ deserves?
Maybe, NZ really deserves Luxon because Luxon’s wilful ignorance, petty bigotry and shallow anti-intellectualism is actually perfectly representative of Nu Zilind and Nu Zilinders?
I thought that it was the post-Covid bitterness that led the majority of voters to elect this anti-Māori, anti-Treaty, anti-environment, pro-corporation, anti-disabled, anti-renter, anti-worker, anti-beneficiary Government, but maybe, just maybe, we elected a charmless and spineless rich bully because that’s who truly represents us?
Think about it.
We are a parochial, gauche culture fixated on cow udders, rugby and pretending we don’t have an alcohol problem.
Our domestic violence rates are the level of a small civil war and the way we cheer when the poorest and weakest amongst us are punished almost seems sexual in its excitement.
Maybe Luxon and his book burning values (except the Bible of course), maybe he actually represents the tiny minded negative-egalitarian Volk we are?
The ‘Kiwi way of life’ is a low imagination horizon anti intellectualism based on exploitation of confiscated indigenous resources where ignorance & malice is celebrated by the rural volk while middle class attention is engulfed between school rankings & property speculation.
A country with hundreds of thousands of kids in poverty, staggering numbers of homeless, suicide rates making us one of the highest rates in the world and an appalling domestic violence rate; a country with generations locked out of home ownership and job security on deunionised wage levels that push us into insecurity, desperation and subservience; a country undermined by exploited migrant labour and speculation where primary industries get to pollute and rape the environment without remorse or punishment ; a country that refused to feed the kids because it was ‘the parents fault’ and who re-lected Key despite dirty politics, abuse of political power and mass surveillance lies; a country that could only apologise for the atrocity at Parihaka 140 years after it happened; a country with social services who chase and hound beneficiaries to death and persecute them; a country whose bloated private prison complex locks up as many people as America and we release men back into the community more damaged than when they went in; a country whose politics are owned by vested big business interests and petty corruptions; this is a country where Seven Sharp is considered current affairs with all the intellectual curiosity of the ZM Breakfast show.
Whatever noble lineage that existed within our egalitarian roots has long been killed off by the 40 year neoliberal experiment and you can see that by the passionate intensity those who have profited by exploiting capital gains tax scream their hatred at the mere mention they might have to pay money on a gain they haven’t even realised yet.
We are a juvenile country with all the cultural maturity of a can of day old coke.
We deserve Chris Luxon as a Prime Minister, because his vacant cruelty and rich prick attitude really manages to sum us up as the ungrateful people we are.

In my circle of friends and club members I have not heard any desire to see him taken down .No one person can do everything the way the general public agrees with but on balance he and his team are doing a good job .Luxon is playing to his strength and is off to China and Europe to increase our trade .

While we all accept times are tough all around the world, voting in this ghastly excuse for a human being to lead our country was exceptionally stupid. As I keep saying he is a vain, mean egotist, in fact there is nothing nice to say about this fool. And to compare him with Ardern is stupidity in the extreme – she was so far superior only those with nothing between their ears can’t see that. And yes, those voting Naitonal/Luxon appear to not even have half a brain. How anyone can’t see him for what he is, HORRIBLE, SPITEFUL, SMUG, JUDGEMENTAL AND RACIST beats the hell out of me!
