  1. In October 23, a Curia poll confirmed that:
“>3:1 voters support the Treaty Principles Bill (4:1 National, 6:1 Labour)”

    That’s why there’s no Opposition.

  2. The mandates worked pretty well at suppressing the death toll. Unfortunately for Jacinda it was the miss management of fluehan that harmed more people than the harm caused by the virus which is a pretty weird hook to hang your cap on, Mathew considering the death toll was heavily suppressed. Maybe you just hate woman Prime Ministers

        1. Other than initially when covid was as unknown and thought to have a higher mortality , mandates are never justified for most people and certainly not once subsequent variants were shown to be less harmful and the especially vaccine to not be particularly good at preventing infection.
And the stats being used by a government too stupid to see it’s own hubris and overreach, were wrong:
          https://www.bassettbrashandhide.com/post/robert-macculloch-former-pm-hipkins-profs-bloomfield-baker-should-be-held-accountable-for-quoti
“ And former PM Hipkins stated in his Election Concession Speech that NZ “recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in the developed world”.

It turns out that all of them based their statements on wrong statistics according to an article published today by one of this country’s (and the world’s) highest ranked economists, John Gibson, at Waikato University (he’s a Distinguished Fellow of NZ Association of Economists). Bloomfield, Hipkins & Baker quoted incorrect “excess deaths” indicators that used weekly death counts in the pre-Covid era to extrapolate with a linear trend into the COVID-19 era, without allowance for changes in population growth from the baseline 2015–19 period. As a consequence, Gibson tells me, “the excess deaths indicator they relied on wasn’t appropriate for NZ .. yet these public health commentators carried on making their claims & relying on the inappropriate indicator for a full 12 months after that”. ”

          1. Apologies That should read mandates WERE never justified not ARE never justified because in the case of a worse disease and a more protective vaccine who knows?
It’s going to be very hard to ever mandate people again though after the overreach this time.

(Footnote I was in favour of mandates for quarantine and hospital staff in the early stages, but not as it became obvious we weren’t going to contain it and it wasn’t as lethal and the vaccine didn’t stop transmission)

  3. Matthew politics is not a sporting code. It’s about society and how it rules for all – the Ring that Rules them All, virtually.

  4. Support for National was down 2.5% to 35.5%, but support for ACT increased 4.5% points to 12% and support for NZ First was up 1.5% to 7.5%.

WTF – I am sure this is all made up shit – but by the time we all find out it will be well too late – effen scum – bring on the war!!!

  5. Cell pH ban is good. EV pricing coming down is good. Bishop promising a test Cricket ground for Auckland is good.

& Yes the Green party merging with Labour is good.
