  1. The reality of co-goverance and the mega reforms under Jacinda and Labour. Gifts and special conditions buy support for individuals but not the wider community including Maori.

“In exchange for the settlement trust’s support, Waste Management has agreed to several conditions, including a return of 1060ha of Waste Management landholdings once the site is no longer required, $2m to construct six homes nearby, and a $10m environment fund should the river be exposed to risk.

It is also promising jobs at the landfill for Ngāti Manuhiri descendants.”

  2. i watched Jacinda Ardern’s valedictory delivery live from beginning to end.

There can only be one superlative to describe it.

    tour de force
    noun
a performance or achievement that has been accomplished or managed with great skill.

In my opinion there are not many people who could carry off such a feat of oratory. Jacinda Ardern’s obvious skill and intelligence combined with compassion, held the floor like no other politician I can recall.

  4. “It’s a bad time for soporific narcissists in office. Just weeks after the self-indulgent grandstanding of Nicola Sturgeon’s farewell press conference, Jacinda Ardern has today followed suit. The New Zealand premier treated her long-suffering public to one last display of egotistical over-excitement. Swathed, bizarrely, in a traditional Maori cloak and fighting back tears, the world leader whose pronouns are me/me/me gave her final speech as Prime Minister in parliament.”

Mr Luxon’s only points of difference are a) not being Labour/Green/Māori, b) he has huge financial backing and media channel support and corporate and SME backing to shaft the majority in this country. He identifies with the suffering in some respects, including middle class “me me me” sentiments but will do absolutely nothing to rectify anything as per Mr Trump and Mr Johnson and many other right opportunists.

Jacinda was a decent person but welded to neo Blairism for a number of reasons that prevented her from attacking capital.
