Former Prime Minister Dame Jacinda Ardern heads to Chicago for Democratic National Convention
Former Prime Minister Dame Jacinda Ardern is heading to Chicago to join Democrats from across the United States for their pre-election national convention, alongside former President Barack Obama and the party’s presidentialcandidate, Vice-President Kamala Harris.
As the United States inches closer to electing their first Female President in their 248 year history, Jacinda is flying to the Democratic national convention to show her support.
It’s an important political journey.
Jacinda was one of the first female Prime Ministers who did it as a woman, minus the aggressive alpha male tendencies.
Her leadership as a woman was authentic female power at its most humanly powerful.
Kindness was a political strength, not a weakness.
Her appearing at the Democrat national convention is part of a watershed moment where authentic female leadership could be valued and succeed.
I think after Trump, the United States is in a sense of trauma and his scars will take a generation to heal.
My sense of Americans is that they cherish two things above all.
A belief in oneself and positivity.
Trump’s self belief has become farcical where as Harris’s optimism and positivity is culturally refreshing.
The cynic in me says Harris will lead a kind war in Gaza, the realist in me sees Trump as an Orange Fascist.
The depth of feeling against America enabling Israel’s war crime could see Jill Stein rob the Democrats of votes in the same way Kennedy Jr will with Trump.
The election will be a knife edge result down to 100 000 votes in swing states.

Where does this article say anything about Ms Ardern supporting Ms Harris “on behalf of New Zealanders”? Are you now deciding on mandates?

Jacinda won’t be representing me particularly in Chicago, though I get Martyn’s royal type use of “us all”. Us All means those opposed to Trump and everything Mango Mussolini stands for.
There is a trend for ex Presidents and Prime Ministers to start foundations and get on the international “pay for talk” circuit. Helen Clark’s one is quite serious going by the documents and events so far, even taking on US Imperialism in the Pacific. Jacinda’s Field Fellowship to encourage younger people into political leadership is more lightweight. Jacinda was photographed recently with two female ex leaders–Julia Gillard from Aus and Michelle Bachelet from Chile.
Jacinda’s presence will do no harm to Kamila Harris chances, and make no mistake Trump has to be defeated, put down for good. The MAGA lot came very close to a coup and beginning a truly authoritarian US State on Jan 6. It is already mildly authoritarian with a pro corporate electoral system.
She can certainly feed into the Democrats anti-gun agenda, now that is a vote winner.
Jacinda is not ‘anti gun’ just anti the use of military assault weapons in civilian society. Get it right for once.

Aotearoa should not interfere in US politics, and the US should not interfere in ours (which it does of course, in a way that goes beyond interference to coercion and control of the New Zealand state). But Dame Jacinda Ardern is a special case. Her affinities with the US go back to childhood, she loyally supported the US and its NATO alliance throughout her term of office in New Zealand, and she is now a US resident and on the payroll of the US political establishment. I think we can safely take it that she is acting in her capacity of civis americanus rather than as a citizen of Aotearoa.
Maybe Jacinda could get a green card and become vice president at the next election and president at the end of Kamalas second term .Then she could extract revenge on all the rich cunts here that have fleeced NZ for years .

No you don’t You need to be a United States citizen at birth (which generally includes people born outside of the United States to at least one U.S. citizen parent). I can name four Republican presidential contenders in the last sixty years born outside of the United States: Barry Goldwater, George Romney, John McCain, and Ted Cruz.
