95 more killed and 440 wounded

Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in 95 dead and 440 wounded. Civil Defence crews retrieved 2 more bodies from underneath bomb-damaged property, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 54,607. The total wounded is now at least 125,341. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 90 and, that of those injured, is more than 207. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

The world is watching, day after day, horrifying scenes of Palestinians being shot, wounded or killed in Gaza while simply trying to eat. Emergency medical teams have confirmed treating hundreds of trauma cases. Yesterday alone, dozens were declared dead at hospitals after Israeli forces said they had opened fire. This is the outcome of a series of deliberate choices that have systematically deprived 2 million people of the essentials they need to survive.

I echo the Secretary-General’s call for immediate, independent investigations. These are not isolated incidents, and the perpetrators must be held accountable. No one should have to risk their life to feed their children.

As I have repeatedly stressed, we must be allowed to do our jobs: We have the teams, the plan, the supplies and the experience.

Open the crossings – all of them.

Let in lifesaving aid at scale, from all directions.

Lift the restrictions on what and how much aid we can bring in.

Ensure our convoys aren’t held up by delays and denials.

Release the hostages. Implement the ceasefire.

West Bank

Palestinian Monitoring Group — Since midnight on 07 October 2023, Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure around the whole of the West Bank, preventing people (even including permit-holders) from entering both Jerusalem City as well as Israel, other than for especially-negotiated exceptions. Permanent military checkpoints impose severe travel restrictions within the Occupied West Bank.

Israeli Army attack: Jenin – Israeli Occupation forces continued their constant storming of the city.

Israeli Army attacks – home invasions: Tulkarem – Israeli forces continued their over five– months-long storming of the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, opening fire towards residents, invading and occupying homes for military purposes and demolishing other homes and property.

Israeli settler attack: Nablus – 22:40, armed Israeli Occupation settlers opened indiscriminate fire towards people, near the Odala village bridge.

Israeli Army attack on homes – 1 child wounded: Jericho – 19:10–01:15, Israeli Occupation forces stormed the city, invading homes and wounding a 13-year-old child: Ali Khaled Mohammed Brahma.

Israeli Army attack – population–control and agricultural sabotage: Hebron – morning, Israeli forces opened fire towards farmers in the al-Dhar area of Beit Ummar, forcing them off their land.

Home invasions: Jerusalem – 22:00, Israeli Occupation forces stormed the village of Beit Duqqu and raided and searched a number of homes.

Home invasions: Ramallah – dawn, Israeli forces raided the town of Abwein and invaded a number of homes.

Israeli Army assault on medical services vehicle: Tulkarem – 18:40, the Israeli Army detained a military medical services vehicle and assaulted two people inside it, at the Einav checkpoint.

Israeli Army robbery and agricultural sabotage: Hebron – morning, Israeli troops seized two agricultural tractors, in the areas of al-Dahr and Wadi al-Wahadin of Beit Ummar.

Occupation settler terrorism: Jericho – evening, Occupation settlers invaded the al-Auja waterfall community and roamed among the residents’ homes.

Occupation settler arson: Ramallah – 16:35, Israeli settlers set fire to a landfill and threw stones at Civil Defence crews, when they arrived to extinguish a fire in the village of Ein Siniya .

Occupation settler stoning: Ramallah – 23:20, Israelis, from the Kochav Hashahar Occupation settlement, stoned passing vehicles near a road junction on the Alon bypass road, causing a head injury to a resident: Ramadan Abdullah Dawabsheh.

Occupation settler agricultural sabotage: Ramallah – Occupation settlers invaded Kafr Malik village agricultural land and cut off the branches from around 30 olive trees.
