The total numbers of killed and wounded in Gaza by Israel since 7 October 2023 are:
killed 71,823 and wounded 171,608.
Since the start of the Gaza ‘ceasefire’ the Israeli Occupation has killed 565 Palestinians and injured 1,481.
The past 24 hours (as above) have seen 21 more killed and 38 more wounded
Since dawn, Israeli live–fire and tanks shelling, have seen 21 more killed and 38 wounded. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 84 and, that of those injured, is more than 201. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.
Palestinians face restrictions leaving, entering Gaza through Rafah
Israel is severely restricting what Palestinians can bring into Gaza through the Rafah crossing, as its forces maintain a tight control over who is allowed in or out. Rafah’s reopening was supposed to alleviate 18 months of Israel’s punishing siege, but aid continues to be limited and thousands are still waiting to cross. Read more . . .
How Israel destroyed Gaza’s health system ‘deliberately and methodically’
Despite ‘ceasefire’, the health sector in Gaza continues to suffer from shortages, destruction and lack of equipment. After the partial reopening of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt this week, the world’s attention turned to the process of allowing a small number of wounded and sick Palestinians out of the besieged territory.
But while these medical evacuations are necessary, advocates say, the core priority must be to rebuild the health system in Gaza, which has been ravaged by Israel’s genocidal war against Palestinians in the Strip. Read more . . .
West Bank
Since 24:00 on 7 October 2023, Israeli Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure on the West Bank, preventing residents and other permit-holders from neither entering nor leaving.The Israeli military also imposes severe and highly variable travel restrictions on all residents.
Israeli Army attack and home invasion – 1 killed and 4 injured: Jericho – 18:40-22:20, Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, stormed the city and invaded a house, killing one resident, Saeed Nael Saeed Al-Sheikh, and injuring four others (including a woman, Soma Muhammad Hassan Abu Hadid, run over by a military vehicle). The other three, who were severely beaten-up and injured, are: Adam Mahmoud Al-Hayek, Muhammad Hussein Brahmeh and Islam Ashraf Khalil Abu Sabah.
Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Hebron – 09:30, Israeli forces shot, wounded and hospitalised a man, Mu’ayyad Nafiz Abu Zahra, who was trying to get to work across the Green Line, near the Janba area, south of Yatta.
