  1. The Kainga Ora – Homes and communities bill aims to deliver just what the Maori Council are talking about.

    – Centralised planning approach
    – More consideration of tikanga Maori
    Etc

  2. Kia Ora Matthew.

This issue is much bigger than the present Ihumaatau.

Immigration has never been an area where Maori have been consulted or a part of the discussion.

We all feel the effects of immigration and off shore buyers of houses.

Enough was a while ago long before the present mess after 9 years of open immigration.

Finally Labour coalition has made a move albeit a timid one.

“So, Government – yes you can and should respond, you can and should intervene to create the mechanisms and tools right now so this never happens again.” Tukaki said.

    Well said Matthew.

My time on Matakana and sharing home with Tukakis in Wellington, brings me pride to be associated with your view expressed. It is a wider problem we face.

Its time to stop the madness and consolidate some trust in expectation that history will be recognised and a discussion be open without constraints.
