  1. Of that 18 billion attributed to Health spending, the amount reaped by the private profit making sector is a growing portion.

    Public health is so underfunded that taxpayers in desperation are forking out and paying for private health services such as radiology, by pass, prostate and breast surgery, when urgency is not being met by the underfunded Public Health sector. People die on the waiting list

    The DHB’s are contracting out to profit making private health services because lack of funding prevents DHBs from establishing needed services in house.

    This is a trend towards a US style private system based on health insurance independent of taxation and with no guarantee of health services being available.

    The wild west for health service corporate investors backed by neo liberal sentiment of NACT and others.
