These are the days I wish my middle finger was longer.

I am not a political analyst by any stretch of the imagination. I’m simply wahine Māori, and that is more than enough. Wahine Māori. Ataahua!  This offering is my “creative” response… not so much poetry as it is poetic. Take it or leave it – this is me, calling it as I see it. Nga mihi.

 

Days have passed, Winnie, and I thought I’d sit on this.

I’ve watched my friends, my whanaunga, my whānau – those with mataora and kauae, respond.

I held space for them to speak first.

And they did – dignified, powerful, strong.

Now, I want to say what they haven’t.

And that is: fuck you.

You and your cronies can fuck off all the way over to Whitey Island.

And when you get there, you can fuck off some more.

Your little outburst, your unhinged comment… it’s too obvious, old man; too plain, too…. well, it’s too “you”.

Boring, predictable, old, tired.

Just shuddup eh!

Your attitude, like your career needs to be retired.

Cos the markings upon our skin sure got under yours aye?

Like, that’s it? That’s all you got?

G’mon Koro! E ki, e ki!

How embarrassing that your poor attempt at an insult is now all you’ll be remembered for.

You, once witty and cutting, now as sharp as jelly on a warm plate.

It’s sad really, just sad.

Your racist, dog whistling rhetoric doesn’t land like it used to aye whiney Winnie.

The only scribble we’re interested in is your signature on the bottom of your resignation letter.

And I sure hope the scribble on your headstone better reflects the man you once were, and not the pathetic creature you’ve morphed into.

  1. Well said .Winston is a sad old fart trying to remain relevant while swimming in the swamp .He is drowning in the filth he spins and is not a real Maori but merely a token white fella in disguise .Once those pakeha have finished with you they will defecate all over you old man .

I have to disagree with some of your comments Vanessa, his bigoted outburst is off the cuff seamlessly jokingly everyday conversations a lot of pakeha have amongst themselves over the dinner table and like it or not it resonates with his voters which is the point of why Winston and this govt continue to employ these tactics. They aren’t worried about offending Maori in particular because that not their voter base. These politicians have a 3-year cycle before the next election and the TPM are the gift that keeps on giving for the right to help achieve staying in power in the 2026 election

    1. Winston is supposed to be Maori st l, and one would expect him to be respectful of his own race, not some paltry, bourgeois apologist for its culture. I think you miss the point which is that he is a cock – a weathercock who, if you keep close watch, will always be pointing in the most efficacious direction for Winston, whether it is good for Maori or any other citizen. Being a lawyer in a family with legal interests, he will understand efficacious and bourgeois as he understands everything, but doesn’t understand what is of most important value.

    2. So, the TPM now has to stop being the gift that keeps giving, keep their heads down and work.
      Their OTT behaviour only has impact for so long. Therefore, they now need to shape up and show the wider public that they have what it takes to be good coalition partners.

    This guy has sucked off the NZ Taxpayers for the last 50 years and has done absolutely nothing apart for a few crumbs to Gold Card holders.
    I’m with you Vanessa, he should fuck off, not to Whitey land though. Oblivion is more appropriate and he should take his coalition racist mates with him.

    1. Had Hanna said winston is a sad old prick who is too scared to get a tat and is a false Maori in pakeha clothing ,she would have got another couple of weeks in the slammer.
