  1. Agree! John A Lee’s books; “The Children of the Poor” and “Hunted” should be required reading in secondary schools. Should be made into a film. In 1973 Treasury invited me in to explain how they could forecast better and provide a forecast with a standard deviation. They did not so that is why their forecasts never come true because they never give a range/standard deviation to cover their imprecision.
They use a “thought terminating cliche” to ignore real truth. Note that the Bank of England in 2014 in a quarterly review explained money creation and said economist textbooks are wrong. Examine closely and you find economists lie.
Agree, we need to control our own currency. The finance sector is an overblown tax on NZ.

  2. Hard hitting, visionary and comprehensive. We have been given a five point political programme for restoration of national sovereignty. Do we have a road map or strategy for implementation? Lobby all political parties in a non-partisan way? Concentrate on one party judged more likely to be sympathetic and offer it political support in return? Start a new party? Or try to work completely outside of the political system?

  3. Thank you Tadhg.
My father told me how he returned from the war to a flourishing economy with full employment thanks to New Zealand’s wartime economic policy.

I tell friends, neighbours, workmates, relatives this ever since I first found out about it at university.
Their response is that bankers do not like it. WELL OF COURSE THEY FUCKING DO NOT!
Actually as a revolutionary socialist John.A.Lee scared the leadership of the Labour Party shitless.
Of the welfare state Harry Holland said ‘Care from the Cradle to the Grave’.
Peter Fraser said “Care from the womb to the tomb.’
John A. Lee said ‘ Care from erection to resurrection.’
