  1. Another very lucid analysis from Ian.
He is quite correct in pointing out the cost of the initial 3 or 4 years required to get into the Waikato has been ignored.
But then what would you expect from this government that ignores facts and data and bases it’s decisions on gut feelings and donor desires.
I will be very interested in 2037 to see how many of the graduates actually finish up as GPs and what the true cost turns out to be. Unfortunately this lot will be long gone by then and as usual will not be held to account.
I also wait with bated breath for the announcement of where the funding is truly coming from and what will be cut from Waikato University budgets to pay.
Or will we see the new charges for visiting or Conservation parks mysteriously disappear into the consolidated funds for reallocation.

  2. I suppose the other thought ty springs to mind is why someone would complete a 3 year degree and then decide to become a Doctor. I know some people do change vocation, but usually later in life or before completion of a degree.
