  1. TOP is just another distraction on the road to collapse via consumerism.

I don’t think he actually said so as such, but it seems that Gareth Morgan is quite keen on consumerism.

  2. I think you are a bit early to be putting the boot in. To get some form of an idea of where he may be coming from, perhaps you should read his blog. There seems to be some pretty sensible, well researched articles on there. I think he’s absolutely correct when he says the 2 main parties are too scared to do anything in case it annoys the voters.
Labour especially, might be surprised how successful “getting some guts ” may be.

  3. I agree with John. Morgan has done a lot of self education in the past few years studying Te tiriti o Waitangi, looking at our problems around health and access to good nutritious food and numerous other things. I think his comment that ‘career politicians are too scared, won’t take risks etc because they have their eye on the next election is absolutely on the button’. I was horrified that Little abandonded capital gains tax because people don’t like it. Really! Neither of the main parties have managed to make the changes that give people opportunities to earn the living wage, have decent affordable housing, enough food for their families etc. Let’s wait to see what he comes up with before putting the boot in indeed.

Ideally I want to see a party that promises everyone at least a wage job.

I certainly understand why people won’t move to Motueka to pick apples or anywhere else, this is piecemeal why would you spend your money moving to a job with no certainty of hours or period of time for which the job is available.

  4. Now that Trump has won, I think a message has been sent very loud and VERY clear to National and Labour to take Morgan VERY seriously.

    1. Become informed. Forget the medias inane spin on the cat thing. I suggest a little more research. At the least read ‘The Big Kahuna’ Turning Tax and welfare in New Zealand on its head.
