Morgan’s clever marketing of policy continues, this time by directly inviting Teachers to discuss his education policy…
…most Political Parties run from having to directly engage with Teachers and the ocean of competing educational theories and complaints they have, so directly asking Teachers to sit down for their education launch is as courageous as it is dangerous.
TOP are resonating and gaining support and writing them off is a mistake.
They are taking Mt Albert very seriously and they have their eyes on September.
I think TOP are the result to watch in the Mt Albert by-election as that will give evidence to any underlying dissatisfaction by the middle classes with the current political offerings.
Well, he’s a real battler, and clearly believes in what hes saying. A rare thing in Politics these days.
He is very interactive on his FB page, and not shy of the pithy put down when required. In fact I haven’t seen such a willingness to reply to ‘comments’ since Glenn Greenwald(another street brawler since way back) was writing in The Guardian.
Just wait and see and don’t be misled by his ‘interesting’ face and Pancho Villa moustache.
He is definitely trying to present as an iconoclast…
Is he getting them along as teachers or as taxpaying citizens?
If it’s as citizens, is to canvass how well they’ll accept the idea of selling off schooling in NZ?
engaging with teachers at the forefront is a good idea…and the teacher unions….and the education academics
Charter Schools in the USA is a failure
the best education system and educators and teaching and schools are state run….as in Finland…most teachers and education academics can tell you that!
teachers/educators in Finland are also highly qualified ( cf. not in USA Charter Schools)….and in Finland teachers/educators are well respected and well paid….education belongs to professional educators
( not wannabe corporates /businessmen who think they know best and want to indoctrinate)
