  1. Bloody crazy corporates aren’t they????

Then when the Carbon food miles comes on food we will have our Dairy products exported by Fonterra will be b rejected because the carbon tax price for our exports will be unpalatable to overseas purchases?????

  2. This encapsulates anthropogenic climate change nicely. Greed, selfishness and ignorance on the part of Fonterra, and enabled with hiding behind bureaucratic nonsense by snivelling commissioners.
The “we’re too small to make a difference” argument ain’t really valid, since any reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a pathetic excuse to do nothing.

  3. Seems a bit backward for sure, on one hand Fonterra are doing some good things like signing on as a foundation customer of Z’s new Bio-fuel. The other things that confuses me is that wood boilers using wood chips or pallets from a sustainable forest is not only carbon negative, but more efficient in the long run too. Just because they can buy coal cheep now doesn’t mean it will last, than you’re stuck with a boiler that is inefficient and cost to much to fuel. Short term thinking is always disappointing.
