  1. there was a thing called the Cuban missile you know the one that just about started a nuclear war ,you got some big stretches of the truth here

    1. And there would be a NATO missile crisis in Europe if a JFK were president of Russia. What is your point?

  2. To understand how much Castro achieved one only has to go to “Gap Minder” , a site built by google, a very capitalist company. If one looks at any social indicator bar GDP Cuba out does the USA. USA GDP per capita is about 8 times Cuba’s but Cuba has a longer life expectancy, lower perinatal child mortality, better literacy, more GPs per capita and on and on. And Cuba started a long way behind, as before Castro it was basically a pseudo colony of the USA known for exploitation and poverty

Or for a more primitive comparison ask yourself whether you would have preferred to have been in New Orleans after a hurricane or in Havana. Just look at the death numbers in each case.

  3. If Castro or Batista stood for election, I’ve no doubt who would’ve won hands-down. Clue, not Batista!!

  4. Interesting the health, education, and literacy statistics for Cuba, the happiness index is probably higher in Cuba despite the relative poverty.

However if you have been isolated by the rest of the world for nearly sixty years, and you are not allowed to trade with the rest of the world, it does make it difficult to grow the economy.

The Cubans made a choice to remain a USA colony (Police State under Batista) or gain independence which Castro gave the people, by kicking the Americans out. Cuba and Vietnam are the two countries that have removed the USA from involvement in their domestic affairs and the USA were not particularly happy?
