  1. It has always amused me that there is such angst that the Russians hacked the Democratic party hierarchies servers to influence the election in favour of Trump. What is never mentioned is that the information they leaked was Hilary doing a deal with said hierarchy to cost Sanders the nomination. That fact seems to cause no comment whatsoever and commentators appear to bend over backwards to avoid mentioning it. It has never been denied or denounced as a fabrication. In truth this was an own goal and played into the narrative of Hilary being an establishment stooge who wouldn’t rock the boat.

    1. Alan: “….that the Russians hacked the Democratic party hierarchies servers….”

As we know from information provided by Wikileaks and others at the time, “the Russians” (whatever the hell that means) didn’t hack the Dems’ servers. And neither did anybody else. Information was leaked, right enough, but it was an inside job. It was downloaded onto a thumb drive, as I recall.

The US Establishment doesn’t like Sanders because he’s a SOCIALIST! Heaven help the Yanks….

This morning on Morning Report, I heard a hilarious interview with a Republican commentator, conducted by Corin Dann. Said commentator banged on about the USSR – never mind the fact that the USSR hasn’t existed for 30 years – characterised Sanders as a socialist who went to the USSR for his honeymoon. Unsurprisingly, Dann didn’t challenge him at all; par for the course with RNZ nowadays.

No matter: even were Sanders to be elected, he’d not be allowed to alter US foreign policy in any way at all. We saw this with Obama: all that hopey, changey stuff (as Sarah Palin described it), remember? And we’ve seen the same with Trump.

Sander might be allowed to implement some of his domestic policies. But only if that plan doesn’t frighten the Establishment horses too much.

      1. As far as I know it’s still Sanders tactic as a POTUS to bus in a million activists supporters every time contentious legislation comes up kind of like a civil rights movement on acid.
