  1. At least this government hasn’t been duplicitous or dumb or insulting enough to proclaim “ unless you hear it from us it is not the truth” or “ we will continue to be your single source of truth” by a PM also advocating global censorship of free speech, and who blocked a briefing from the police at the 2022 Parliamentary protest. Silencing law enforcement officers while simultaneously interfering in their work role like Mallard did, is unacceptable in a so-called democracy.

    1. The “truth” was in relation to confronting Covid and vaccine disinformation, the govt has a duty to protect its citizens as in similar times of war. To claim that Jacinda Ardern as PM was in some way attempting to mislead the public during the pandemic highlights more your ignorance and devotion to wacky conspiracy theories than any constructive criticism.

      1. You say the “truth” was in relation to confronting Covid and vaccine disinformation.

Yet, Jacinda wasn’t being very truthful when she told us the vaccinated won’t end up in hospital and they won’t die.

    2. Grow up and get some context into the situation. Your accusation that Ardern was advocating global censorship of free speech lacks the context that she was trying to censor false speech. I know many people who still refuse to admit what reliable evidence proves so as long as we all have independent thought it is going to be impossible to get universal agreement on many facts. As for Mallard I can’t think of anything good to say about him so we can agree on that.

      1. Censoring false speech is not the way to counter it.

And as the inquiry into covid highlighted, Jacinda’s single source of truth comment was not helpful.

Jacinda is also looking to shut down so called hate speech with her Christchurch Call. Which many see as another attack on free speech.

  2. I saw both protests. The DLM protests comprised smelly disheveled-looking poor people not right wing activists. The Hikoi was far more broad based than leftists. I agree however that Mitchell was out of order.

    1. Its always inconvieniant for the ‘educated’ left and the chardonay socialists when the lumpenproletariat manage to stir themselves and upset the plans of there ‘betters’. Far better to chuck a label like far right on them so they can be safetly ignored.

      1. Or “The Dumb Lives Matter Protesters” as a way to belittle and tar everyone of them with the same brush.

  3. This week we have had 100 police taken off the beat to direct traffic at a tangi and a scout camp .How much has it cost the tax payer to take a couple of patches and t shirts .All so Mitchell and Luxon can have the best sex they have ever had .

  4. I keep telling you that final events involve the left getting crushed but believing that requires a belief that higher powers exist than those on this Earth.
I can understand that you don’t want to turn your fine blog into a religious argument so just keep an open mind is all I ask.

  5. Bonnie Perhaps you could keep an open mind also, and view Ardern’s soeech to the UNO, not just advocating for censorship, but for global, UNO censoring of free speech. In this country we already have our own laws which address criminal/inflammatory etc speech issues, and do. Pop Ardern’s speech into the WEF context.
