Democratic National Convention – Kindness with a dash of genocide and no climate change – why Trump might still win
The coronation of Harris at the Democratic National Convention was a spectacle and clear reset of the American Election.
You forget the spiritual desert we have been lost in under Trump when you hear the beauty of Michelle and Barack Obama’s soaring g rhetoric and moral articulation of what modern progressive politics can offer.
You forget the decency of Joe Biden when he declares, ‘I gave you the best of me’.
And you forgot that America has enabled Israel to commit an ethnic cleansing war crime whose death toll is getting close to 200 000 Palestinians.
That is the true beauty of the Democrats, they can make us forget they are sitting on top of a Military Industrial Complex that needs war for profits.
There was little mention of the catastrophic reality of climate change and even less solutions for the multiple problem America faces, which is understandable because the threat of Trump winning is the immediate danger..
Harris made a good speech and Walz looks like the positive masculinity America has been begging for.
The momentum is certainly with the Democrats, but this is momentum with demographics who don’t turn up to vote, so this sugar high could crash.
The Democratic convention was what we all want America to be and the contrast between what modern progressive inclusive politics can promise vs the wounded masculinity culture war revenge fantasy Trump is selling couldn’t be further apart.
Why Trump might win comes down to 3rd Party candidates.
Hilary lost to Trump partly because 3rd Party candidates hurt her. This time around Kennedy Jr has stepped aside and endorsed Trump (he’s polling 5%) while Jill Stein is relentlessly attacking the Dems from the Left over Israel.
In an election as close as this one will be, this 3rd Party Candidate bleed could well determine the result with Trump winning.

It is a simple choice.
Trump = convicted felon, sexual predator, man who tells covid sufferers to inject themselves with bleach, openly states he will become dictator if elected (also desperate because presidential immunity may be his only way to avoid jail).
Kamala Harris = none of the above.
Yet another US election where its about everything and anything but policy – abortion, wokeness, and all the other lovely stuff designed to make people feel better about themselves – aside, while existing policy erodes income for most people at the same time. Ad the Left, the Left covets this shite…no wonder the Right is on the rise, sucking in more and more former Lefties at the same time, which in turn pushes long-time Righties further to the Right. Oh, the joys of a corrupted political system that then imposes itself on every other nation in the world. Fark me.
Trump might still win because the system if anything favours the Republicans, despite what that Orange wanker says. How many democrats have won the popular vote only to be defeated by the electoral college. More than one.
This election will be won before the polling booths open and after they close. The actual number of vote cast won’t matter and Harris might win the popular vote by a landslide.
If I were the Democrat party I would be seriously investigating the key districts in the 6 to 8 key swing seats
I would want to know
Who is in charge of the polling booths. Who is in charge of the ballot boxes
Who is in charge of vote counting
The Republicans have watched the process in Venezuela very closely. Trump supporters will steal this one
Playing the two party game over the past 40 years is one of the reasons we still suffer under neoliberalism. Throughout most western democracies.
People should get past the binary choices, it’s become a game of voting against the greater perceived evil rather than voting for the future that they really believe in.
