Congestion charging: Auckland council wants changes to Govt’s bill
Auckland councillors are not comfortable the congestion charging scheme for motorists laid out in a bill will be good for the region.
Hahahahaha.

The vast, vast, vast swathe of Auckland has NO IDEA the roads are about to be privatised.
They are just trying to grind out a living during a cost of living crisis in a gridlocked city AND THEN they will be told they are being charged for that.
The bullshit used to support congestion charges are that when they are adopted it sees a decrease in emissions and traffic, but in every single city they have tried this in they have high density public transport, in Auckland we have shit public transport!
Congestion charges will only cause more poverty and misery because there isn’t any fucking public transport infrastructure.
When Aucklanders get blindsided by this, they will scream for blood and demand to know who did it, so your starting hatred should go to the Boomer King, then National, then ACT, then NZF, then Labour and then the Greens.
The Māori Party were the ONLY ONES who refused to vote for this.
Watching the coming shock wave of fury from Aucklanders when they are told how much they will have to pay to sit in gridlock will be beautiful.

If Labour has any sense they will state now that congestion charges will be removed as soon as they are central govt or have a Labour mayor. No Labour govt that supports workers, tradies, courier drivers, broke arse uber drivers, small businesses and soccer mums would support this bs.

Not just congestion charges, increases to car registrations, petrol will go up and water rates.
Agree with Gordon Walker Auckland- ders deserve everything they get; they voted the COC in power and soon it won’t be just road use charges they will also have to pay for water use costs under water done well.

The problem is not the current mayor’s creation.
Auckland had chosen the cheapest and most short-term option with every transport decision since the 1930s.
They can fix potholes though simeon did it with his mobile pothole monitoring service. The COC priorities are wrong. And just like our police shortage we will be lucky to get many young people to join our army or navy they have all bugger of to Australia and more will leave us soon when nicky no boat May budget comes out.

Time to put back the toll on the bridge so that all the dumbos that live on the other side of the harbour from where they work can pay for a new one .Why anyone would work in Mt Wellington and live in Whangaparoa is beyond me .I would either get work closer to home or move closer to my job .Simple fix to congestion right there .
