Court rules to evict elderly Tāmaki tenant
This afternoon the District Court ruled against elderly and sick social housing tenant Ioela ‘Niki’ Rauti.
The judgment upholds the Tenancy Tribunal’s judgement that Tamaki Regernational Ltd has the legal right to evict Niki.
Niki and the Tāmaki Housing Group have been protesting Tāmaki Regeneration Ltd’s role as a company set up to enable property speculation and profit making in the Glen Innes and wider Tāmaki area.
Niki is applying for an appeal in the High Court. We would expect Tamaki Regeneration Ltd to allow Niki to proceed through the legal justice system before acting hastily.

I watched a programme called “Star Trek – Wrath of Khan”. Some of you might think this is anti-Islamist propaganda, and especially Winston with his ‘electioneering’ NZ-Flag-stickers on his party members’ desks in the debating chamber.
In the movie, Spock declared “The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few, or the one”.
Ioela Rauti must give up her State House, so that families on the waiting list, or families living in cars, can get affordable housing. The needs of the many needing houses, must outweigh the needs of the few, or one, like Ioela Rauti…
….Consumers and taxpayers need to know that the taxpayer dollar is being spent as wisely as humanely possible, in the lead-up to the election. That way, Kiwis can vote for the most responsible National party and have faith in its caring coalition partners like ACT, Maori Party and United Future.
This act makes sense.
