  1. The Greens should embrace sustainability and recycling and welcome Tana back into the party. Cast aside their petty differences, move on from their misunderstandings and their fragile intersectional egos. That would be the way to show principles and values in politics.
Also, she really needs the money right now and her replacement on the list looks like a walking time bomb.

    1. Peter. “ … her replacement… looks like a walking time bomb.” True. Yet another so-called University of Waikato product. They’re generally awful, IMO. One even speechifies from his laptop in Parliament.

  2. Greens have taken their sweet time on this one, but they will dump Darleen eventually. The Court would have been laughing like a drain when they were asked to intervene in a Parliamentary Political party internal processes and forums.

Tana has no shame obviously, the husbands business failure and exploitation of low paid workers would have caused anyone with a conscience to slink off months ago.

Greens will survive this type of scandal as a brand because if you read their policy they are the future–sustainability not capitalist growth on a finite, Climate compromised planet.

  3. Dump her now and move on .But take a hard look at future selection of candidates so that this does not happen again .NZ has had a lot of below standard candidates in all parties and a lot are in the current government which is driven by by hatred of the 90% that dont own 7 houses .I NZ is to become a great place to live we need to move away from the endless money grab of the last 50 years and work towards a great country for ALL kiwis not just massive money grab for the top 10%.Like it or not the greens may well be the party to steer us in that direction as clearly most of the others are caught in the money grab and have no idea on anything different .Events unfolding in the next 12 months will clearly show that has started to fail as the 90% have nothing left for the 10% to grab .

    1. Agree with you 100%.

Both Labour / National ACT are two sides of the Neo liberal coin.

Over the last 3 elections the Greens have developed a policy platform that leaves those 3 parties in their shade.

Like it or not those 3 parties are now just legacy parties holding on by their finger nails.

  4. They and them are pronouns of the plural.
If anyone wants to be gender neutral they are free to adopt the already extant It.

    1. By quirk of our language we cannot do a group pronoun. It looks like this. (S)he(it). Other languages don’t have the problem we do.

  5. The “woke” clique (as we are currently calling them) are basically bullies. Two generations ago it was easy to spot the bullies because they were white and the racist world they lived in meant they could get away with taking their dysfunction out on brown/black people. Nowadays it’s more complicated because the bullies can pretend they have inherited the mantle of Rosa Parks – but they are still bullies looking for someone to be mean to and they will never be able to build anything constructive.

Eventually everyone else will learn that toxic bullies need to be kept outside the walls until they learn to behave – but it could be a while before we get there.

    1. well we need to clean out the government ,start with Luxon ,Willis ,Upston Goldsmith from nats then start in on act and Seymoure ,Costello,McKEE for a start .then all of the river of filth because they actually are the only party who have no elected mps.

  6. Why do we have to wait until 17th. Oct.? That’s ridiculous.
Do something decisive, Greens. We are all sick of listening to this will she/won’t she, garbage.
Cut off the dead wood now.
Martyn is desperately trying to be patient and understanding with you here, but the rest of us don’t have to be.
By all accounts the next person on the list is just as bad as Tana. Do something even more decisive and skip that person. Skip as many as you need to, until you find someone who knows what GREEN means.

  7. Chloe needs to have the next bloke in line, before he is given his warrant, sign a blank sheet of paper to keep in her desk drawer so she is never faced with this fiasco again.

  8. The charge of the knob head brigade on TDB…

Get it right–with each reactionary boomer funeral (there are lefty boomers too)–the Green brand will gain more support. Growth is not a happening thing on a finite planet with major Climate Disaster right here right now.

Sustainability and an electric powered AO/NZ is where it is at. Green policy is largely in sync with the requirements of our times, it makes little odds that there are political scandals pumped up by the for profit media channels.
