I’m not even sure how to delicately link to the following blog, so feral and vile it is. I have to provide trigger warnings to the trigger warnings.
I don’t like Barry Soper either but the joy some seem to revel in his travel mishap is childish at best and pile on bullying culture at worst – extreme climate change, mass social inequality, a looming economic crash & war are issues worthy of our time – throwing shit at Soper because he couldn’t get into the US isn’t.
Am I surprised the NZ media haven’t made more of the revelations NZ Police shot at a mentally disturbed man 12 times and the ‘machete’ was actually a 7 year old blunt ornamental knife?
Over at Kiwiblog, Farrar and the feral right are screaming at Jacinda over her wording on the Syria strike as if she is personally colluding with Russia while on the far Left the criticism on social media is even worse.
I can’t work out if he is being figurative or literal, as in Chloe actually gave this speech previously or perhaps Scott’s just learnt the word ‘formulaic’ and this is his first test drive of it in public?
Regardless of whether or not the bias is intentional, if the system is providing favouritism, that isn’t fair, and as citizens in a progressive democracy we should all want for everyone to share the harvest with agency, acceptance and inclusion.
…we are now into phases 2 and 3 of the stock standard response. The ‘suspected weapon’ and ‘shooting victim had it coming’ phase. Here the Police aggressively defend their actions, demand thoughts and prayers for the poor police who had to unload an entire clip into whatever mentally unwell person they’ve gunned down and then tend to start phase 4 where they demand more guns as a response,
The Oil Industry has known for decades that their product caused catastrophic climate change and they actively used propaganda to pretend climate change wasn’t to blame the way the tobacco industry used quack science to pretend smoking and cancer weren’t connected. Petrol needs to be hit with taxes the same way we hit tobacco and these taxes should be used to transition completely away from big oil.
The sugar industry, landlords, private education, private health and the wealthy who profit will not be so blind. They will understand the enormity of the change the new government represents. No Government crosses industries as powerful as oil and roading if they don’t mean it and those who haven’t been challenged yet will be frantically and desperately clambering together in private rooms and company offices to demand an end to this roll back of their power and influence.
