Based on my experience as a former detective, AOS cop and former inspector in charge of Auckland Criminal Intelligence Section & VIP Security, it is my opinion that the GCSB in particular and to a lesser extent, police CIS in NZ and police in Australia, have much to explain.
As fingers point at our intelligence and security services ahead of an inquiry it’s also worth looking at the fingers pointing back at the accusers.
A lot of jokes don’t make sense until you get to the end.
The aspect of these killings which, in my view is rapidly being swept under the carpet, is the failure of New Zealand GCSB (spies) and police intelligence units on both sides of the Tasman.
Now is the hour for us all to briefly look at the facts before us concerning our choices as a democracy when it comes to leadership and even the intentions behind policy.
NZME had barely finished their frantic efforts to find and hide their own racist, Islamaphobic, or nasty race based content, before they were busy sounding alarms about the dangers of the Blame Game!!!
50 people murdered and 42 injured in a few short minutes in our peaceful country…. just awful.
But today, as I watched on TV the thousands upon thousands of Kiwis who gathered to observe a 2 minutes silence in remembrance of the victims ( with so many women wearing headscarves in a display of solidarity with their Moslem sisters) I felt incredibly proud of our little nation.
This world leading mother, brilliant, inspirational woman has taken the world by storm and there’s nothing to do but eat those words about lacking substance, about being out of her depth, about Winston running the show.
Some of the weapons that will still be allowed I have to say are a real concern and I will be making a representation to the select committee to toughen the laws up even further.
