As China and America lock horns in a trade war and with the enormous build up of naval hardware in the South China Sea, it is becoming increasingly likely that NZ is going to get dragged into this geopolitical vortex.

The reality is the crippling underfunding of Auckland’s infrastructure will require more than $28billion to seriously get the city moving.  

National built a mass surveillance deep state, the supposed checks and balances to that deep state are a joke and mere window dressing.

Jones however correctly identifies the way in which the neoliberal Public Service bureaucracy slow down any actual ability to change things in NZ. This is a difficult reality for the Left to get their heads around, we have always seen the State as the means to create egalitarianism, what the new Government is quickly learning however is that the Ministries are fiefdoms of their own and serve in their interests, not the interests of NZ.

The glorious war dead lie cold in the ground and must weep at our militarism and how their sacrifices have been twisted into continued justification for violence. 

The Greens running in the Northcote by-election is as counter productive as Clarke Gayford asking Deborah Hill Cone for a character reference. 

There is a belief amongst some on the Left that our comrades inside the Government are so over whelmed by the enormity of the job and are being so expertly manipulated by the Public Services that there will be only shallow promises an no real policy change.
