This election Democrats have decided painting Kavanaugh as a pack raping angry drunk is the trick and calling anyone who thinks due process and the presumption of innocence matters as rape enablers is the magical strategy towards winning.
This sudden desire to force NZ’s cultural values upon refugees and migrants is an absurdity. This is a liberal progressive democracy that loves alcoholism, rugby and domestic violence, I’m not sure how forcing migrants or refugees to get drunk, become an All Blacks supporter and bash their loved ones or risk deportation is much of a step forwards.

In the post MeToo landscape where accusation is the evidence and due process simply a means of privilege to protect itself, the Kavanaugh case has exposed a division that seems impossible to bridge. One side demands the accuser be believed and any attempt to critique or question the accusation is as much a crime as the abuse itself while the other side demands due process while denying due process.
The National Party are so spiteful and so desperate to hide their spite they will make any mountain out of a mole hill. It would be funny if the mainstream media weren’t so happy to feed it like they did the meth hysteria.
