  1. Economic journos are buffing the ordinary seasonal variation as if there were meaningful growth. None is yet apparent – and charlatans that pretend there is are hoping the election will distract readers from the ongoing failure to achieve even a fraction of the promised growth – Willis is still net negative, take inflation out & she’s a world-beating loser.

Look at the bottom line – nothing these clowns utter will spruik it – they’re toast.

  2. The reports on radio say the best outlook figure since 2014 .If you care about the poor then you should rejoice that times are finally getting better. November was a record sales month for the firm I worked for .They supply hospitality gear and most are looking at great growth for the coming year.

      1. You clearly have a great way with words to pen such a well thought out response. I obviously need to up my game .

        1. Come on Trevori, it was like you did not read the post, and are ignoring basic economic facts of the overall economy. Or was it just a case of “pull the ladder up jack I’m alright”? Your gross positivity in the face of the reality of the situation is just so 1992.

        2. NZ has clearly turned to shit under National. Every metric has proven this. Your Trump like lies don’t wash with those with an ounce of intelligence. Record numbers to Australia, low wages, destructive public health and service and the worst economy in 30 years. You have become the daily blog village idiot Trevor, Trevor, Trevidiot.

        3. Oh Trevor don’t try too hard – your cheerful little homilies make me nostalgic for the better times we had in the 1960s-1970s when we were still trying. Now we are just corduroy under the juggernaut of tech and artificial economic boosts that are hidden gifts to overseas corpse and Mr Creosotes for pumping us up and keeping a failing economic system from becoming an obvious derelict with a flat tyre. Soon we will have to bail out as well as pump.

    2. Then provide the link to those “reports on the radio”.

Because otherwise we will all know you’re lying and making things up. It’s not hard to provide evidence for your claims, unless you’re a child.

Extraordinarily retarded claims require extraordinary evidence Trevor. Put up or shut up.

But I have a feeling the company you used to work for are actually second hand dealers recycling equipment from all the failed hospo businesses. In other words, Vultures.

Record sales do not mean record profits Trevor. Adults know these sorts of things. So you can try lying to your fellow idiots, but your bullshit is utterly transparent.

  3. Our Journo’s only see what suits them. We all know there aren’t any GREEN SHOOTS – again it’s all lies, deception and BS propaganda – the trademark for this CoC mob. Luxon promised growth, growth, growth but he was only talking about the growth of his own ego. Labour built an Infrastructure Pipeline that the CoC maliciously destroyed, but since the truth doesn’t suit our media, they prefer to pretend the NZ economy is on an up-turn! No point in popping the bubbly, it would be a total waste of time – there is nothing to celebrate. The CoC never had a plan and is a total failure, which Luxon and Willis are too arrogant and stupid to acknowledge. If you too live in Lala land keep voting for these scumbags. Under this deteriorating regime, NZ is already completely “stuffed”.

  4. capital is underwritten by energy – we import most of ours. do the sums on biofuels and electricity to transition for 30 years and then do them again in 60 and then in a hundred. something has to give – it will be the population.

  5. NZ needs to wake up – we are at the arse end of a fossil fueled boom – the time to look for alternative ways of living was in the 1970’s – the hippies are right

  6. When the 10000 dairy farmers get their 300k payout, for selling half their business ,there will be massive headlines from government about the growth in the economy .6 months later they will come down with a thud as we all see that the banks have taken the lions share of that cash to repay overdrafts and loans on over valued properties .No doubt Willis will be taking the credit for the down sell of parts of Fonterra which now is a bulk distribution company which will now be looking for the next part to sell off .Maybe an off shore transport company will own all the tankers this time next year and will be charging double to collect milk while paying drivers less .They will be able to get cut price drivers under the new free trade in people deal Luxon is salivating over .The race to the bottom is speeding up .

    1. Your predictions are very probable although I hope that any imported drivers are not transitioning from rickshaw to milk tanker as we will pay the price in road safety then.

      1. I have read that some Indian cities don’t want rickshaws now seeing that they are so modern and wealthy. The people at the bottom end will still be in need of jobs and if they get enough to live on and eat enough, they would be pleased to keep on working usefully I am sure. but the middle class are pretentious in whichever country.

  7. With food prices still rising one would expect people to be entering non food stores with leaner wallets on Black Friday and Boxing Day.
