  1. This is the time when we should be analyzing this tragic event as a nation and taking steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. There are people out there who are happy this has happened so they can expound their various twisted theories to suit themselves. Never mind the anti Māori, anti Luxton, anti blah blah whatever, lets just get on with the job and make sure history does not repeat itself.

  2. This is the result of Luxon spreading lies about Maori stealing the water before the last election .Now it is rearing its head and Blaming Maori for natural disasters .PM as you know from the bible YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW .We are now seeing the harvest ot the seeds you and your COC mates have sown .

  3. He doesn’t know what bottom-feeders are so stands to reason, he doesn’t know what trolls are either.

Wouldn’t there be sensors placed at intervals on the slope to detect movement, as for earthquakes.
But it requires someone to look at the results and make a decision about shutting the camping ground until it settles down. Oh no, I forgot. Can’t do that. Someone misses out on the chance to clip the ticket over summer.

Cluxon’s burbling really just amounts to always accusing others of things you’re doing yourself.

  4. Can’t get much more racist than saying tā moko are scribbles. This language can be vomited out by the government but the public has no right to express their opinion on the cause of the landslip? Makes about as much sense as doing a geotech soil test after a landslide has buried people instead of monitoring the land risk beforehand.

  5. It wouldn’t matter who cut down the trees. Basic management of assets demands risk assessments. If anything, the trees being removed would mean more eyes and response protocols would be set in place to activate in certain conditions. Those protocols did not activate, or even exist. As I understand it, it was the responsibility of the council to issue warnings. Somewhere else I was reading it was “too soon” to be talking about why this happened. I think not. In a larger environment where everything competent is rejected and responsibility constantly abdicated, it doesn’t matter when anyone says anything because nothing changes. It could happen again next week, or next month, and still no change in response. The culture of laziness and stupid is too well imbedded to be able to blame anyone specifically. All we know is we are officially lazy and stupid, such things have consequences, and we should immediately move to correct that flaw.

  6. The very, very, very last thing the 90 year old itch that is the national party would want would be unity between Maori and non Maori. That’s why the national party send in the Machiavellian media flies at every opportunity to disrupt and misinform. Which is ironic really because national like labour, nz first, the green party etc et al are all neoliberals.

  7. [New layout’s looking good!] Yes, I like that – Luxon’s RW Trolls – what a perfect match. Problem with Luxon is again, he doesn’t think things through – he simply knee-jerks and lets his motor mouth run away with him. He won’t ever learn, it’s way too late for that. Best he can do is fade, quietly into the shadows and disappear, but again he wouldn’t be able to even do that without fanfare. And as for Cameron Slater, I guess the “slater” says it all. He is one of NZ’s most incorrigible, spiteful cretins. How is he still around?
