  1. Biden should have done this 12 months ago. This has shades of Geoff Palmer standing aside for Mike Moore.

    1. Geoffrey Palmer wasn’t senile and had an intellect as sharp as a razor. Probably a better comparison is Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

  2. Betting markets say Kamala won’t be replaced (by 86% of gamblers, who don’t want to lose their money). Josh Shapiro or Ray Cooper currently the leading bets for Kamala’s VP pick.

  3. “The problem is ion Democrats thing someone as flakey as Kamala Harris is the solution…”

Well, they managed to get Biden elected despite him showing what the world sees now, leading into the 2020 election…so who knows what they can do. The US political system is totally corrupt, meaning they serve the donor class and little else, but I don’t like the way the Demz purposely put an end to the Biden era. It was effin ruthless, very befitting of them nonetheless. Otherwise, they don’t care, as much as we think, about elections – as long as they stop true left-leaning candidates from being genuine election threats – job done. As for Kamala, she is worse than Biden on a bad day so interesting to see who they put up in the end.

    1. Yes, but how did Biden get elected in 2020? He hid in his basement during the campaign and then miraculously won with the help of Covid, postal ballots and the FBI suppressing the Republican campaign on social media.
None of that applies now. Covid is long gone, and Musk has cleared the Democrat plants out of Twitter/X.

      1. If you don’t know how Biden got elected in 2020 then best to stop making dumb comments on subjects you know nothing about…….you are as bad as John/Bob the uno/Trev or

      2. What matters is that the puppet-masters – the big-money – behind the Demz lost faith in Biden, thus they kicked him to the curb. Otherwise, those very same nefarious influences would have successfully gamed the US political system – again – to get him reelected. Clearly, Biden either, was not worth their effort, or the puppet masters have someone else in mind, other than Kamala, to take his place.

Bigger point being, whether its the big-money behind the Demz or the big-money behind the Republicans (and of course, there’s majority commonality between them both), this rotten political system still spits out a puppet that serves them over the interests of their voters. And if this system works against the interests of its people, then sure enough, it works against the interests of people, everywhere, also!

Still, you have to hand it to the Demz, at least they know how to pick a puppet who doesn’t threaten the political illusion we are – all – under, ditto quickly kick said puppet to the curb if he/she ever does.

      3. It was all rigged Andrew. Remember you being down the rabbit hole at the time, good luck with your convicted felon and rapist this time, which hole will you hide in?

  4. Unfortunately, the US Democratic Party is not likely to take the advice of our esteemed TDB Editor.

They should hold a contest for the Presidential candidate however. Ms Harris would be ok though given her age, and other attributes-she would attract women and younger voters, who are essential in the numbers game to deny Mango Mussolini.

The thing is polls show the majority of Americans support women’s reproductive rights and gun control etc. but the bent electoral system means the white die hards have more influence than they should.

Joe deserves a rest, and Palestinians at least will be pleased he has thrown in the towel-if there are enough of them left!

  5. The Democratic nomination for president is a poisoned chalice for whoever accepts it at this stage.
Biden stepping aside would be safeguarding at least some of those further down the ticket and that’s where the counterweight to a Trump administration will lay.
Kamala Harris will be set up and fail while the vibrant new candidates will be keeping the the powder dry for next time

  6. Because the USA has become a nation of god bothering cracker ,cooker bat shit crazy fuckers she will never win .Like NZ the god squad nutters have taken over and its all down hill from here .

  7. Such a pity Biden is finally out, as he was the gift that kept on giving. I was hoping for fist fights at the DNC. LOL

    OK so where are we?

The Biden/Harris campaign fund sits at 220 million dollars last time I checked. This is held in trust, and I think cannot be transferred to a new candidate. Also, Kamala will cling on like a shit to a blanket. She is disliked even by Democrats (She came last with 2% of the vote in the 2019 primary), but if they pass her over, the race & gender obsessed radicals in the party will spit their dummies. Being as thick as a brick doesn’t help her case any.

They have 28 days between the end of the DNC and the start of early voting. That’s not much time to mount a campaign. Most of the proposed candidates have zero name recognition and those that do are only known for bad things. Such as Newsom and the gruesome state of California and Whitmer for the drug warfare and corruption in Michigan.

    Put the popcorn on! 🙂

    1. Yep nothing like a good western munching on popcorn watching the baddies get drilled

    2. Not much time for the Trumpies to mount a campaign against a new candidate either.

    3. I think there’s plenty of evidence she isn’t thick, but that will not make her electable. Hilary had problems.

    1. Trump in jail first, oh wait! He owns the courts! Kim Jong Trump and Donald Putin too the rescue.

  8. Except the democrats , like labour and the greens actually believe the grievance cascade of identity politics so Kamala “deserves” to be their candidate despite many very obvious failings.
How many emperor with no clothes moments do these woke Democrat cultists need?

    1. National have picked both Key and Luxon with no clothes and even worse, the woke Republican cultists have got Trump. You are clearly an idiot KCCO, as it is clear the word cultist is aligned with Trump and his followers, who else would wear ear bandages and buy right wing propaganda merchandise off Trump?

  9. NASC. At least we can agree on one thing.Forxa female to support Trump shows poor judgement to say the least

  10. Harris is only 1 point behind Trump in 2 of the swing states. Abortion will be a strong message and a point of difference

    1. Trump is not a particularly strong contender. Both the democrats and republicans picked lemons

  11. Hahah, hilarious. The coronation of Trump by Ammurrica’s controllers couldn’t be more blatant.

  12. If merica elects a convicted felon and a known sexual predator then they all get what they deserve, tampon on their ears and all.

  13. Kamala wouldn’t cut the mustard.

My current pick is Mark Kelly, former astronaut — surely that would trump any other contender! — senator from Arizona. Age 60, pretty much a perfect age (and Trump now pushing 80).

He needs to accept the Dem crown; Kamala can stay on as VP

  14. Martyn , you may be right on kamela being less than an ideal candidate but for the wrong reasons. Kamela Harris is said to be not a strong communicator and to be indecisive (see https://www.theframelab.org/kamala-trump-contest-between-democracy-dictatorship/).
The worst thing USA democrats could do is to continue to bicker and act disunified which holding a contested convention would do.
Kamela Harris is the best option they have all things considered.

  15. not a fan of Harris either but she gets to keep the gangsta moolah to go up against the other gangstas – democracy – yeah right

  16. When asked, Barack Obama declined to endorse Harris.. The chattering class on MSMBC etc are all twittering that this signals a pitch within The party for Michelle Obama…
All the pundits agree that she would do a dump on Trump….
    “Watch this space”……

  17. Kamala Harris might just capture the zeitgeist and proide an Democratic elation bump, like Jacinda did for Labour. The time is right for a black multiracial women who has gumption and fight and supports women’s rights just when they are under extreme threat. She might laugh out of register sometimes but that’s a human quality and she has a quick left hook, repartee. and is every but as aggressive as Trump. The kids like her, the women like and need her and multiracial people do as well. I am picking she will win. She is also more progressive than Biden on a number of issues, so the Bernie bunch will latch onto her as well. She could not be more oppositional than Totesteron Trump, also in her favour at this time. Yep she’ll capture the zeitgeist and become the next president of America that’s my bet.

  18. Being the Democratic Party candidate this time round would be the kiss of death to any political career.

Who will take up the poison chalice?

    1. Why?
Your chances should be high if you’re up against a convicted felon and sexual predator who would have sex with his daughter, surely?

  19. Well the latest is that Kamala has secured enough support to secure her nomination. The speculation surrounds who she’ll pick as running mate. Personally, I’d like to see Bernie Sanders, because that’d make the wealthy in USA shit themselves, but my guess is she’ll go for a WASP for contrast.
I really, really hope there’ll be a debate rematch between Felon Daipher Don and a Democrat female. I’d like to see him try and repeat his creepy move on Kamala – she’ll deck him if he tries it. If she did it would guarantee her election. Ahhhh dreams are free.
That said, she’ll get a “media honeymoon”, that’ll carry through to Nov. I still think it’ll make zero difference to the result, mainly because the committed vote is locked in following Trump’s conviction, but she may swing most of the tiny undecided vote.

  20. She will choose the astronaut guy and he would be a great choice also because his wife, a politician suffered far worse than Trump at the hands of that gun crazy nation. She’ll win. Trump will lose, if he doesn’t have a heart attack first, or stroke due to his age and diet of McDonalds it’s surprising it hasn’t happened already.
