  1. All right it’s taxpayers money blah blah blah, but it was half a million fucking dollars! – for what? A couple of weeks work? Jesus Christ I should have been so lucky.

  2. So in your mind the 100k trade related aprentices who had their fees and half of their wages paid for was a waste of money .Also the doubling of nurses pay and increases for teachers was also a waste of money .Also 5000 extra nurses trained and in the work force .
The only waste here is the current idiots closing down the construction industry instead of building 40k houses a year .When the next boom comes around all those trained people will be working and living the dream off shore some where where their talents are loved

  3. Maybe they think there are not many votes in first home buyers. Which is wrong.

  4. Mike king is acting dumb and now he says she Ballantyne can donate to whoever she wants, can he not see the perception here and it seems to be becoming a common theme, donate and you shall receive.

  5. And this was a surprise because???
It’s pretty obvious what the end result will be. Privatisation of State/Social Housing. All those MPs with property portfolios not only have their snouts and forepaws in the trough, but now they’re getting their hind quarters in there too.
Gonna take a massive election revolt to gain the two thirds majority to entrench the protections we need.

  6. I didn’t vote for this circus and the clowns and never will cause they only care about the rich and many NZers are aware of this, but they fell hook line and sinker for the 16 million dollars (donated by the rich) of spin.

  7. How in heaven Luxon would know that something was “ done exceptionally well” is a bigger mystery than the Incarnation. Presumably this is what one of his numerous paid advisors told him. English wears whatever cloak suits him at any God given time. In Auckland he electioneered as an honorary Samoan chief. Right now he resembles a Nigerian Prince. Not a good look.

  8. The framing is typical right wing propaganda, take the grant money off those who think they might have and blaming those who need social housing who know they definitely don’t.

  9. I was in Wellington last weekend, wondered what the stench was. I should have known.

  10. We need at least 5% unemployed so why not have 10% homeless ?That way we will be the envy of the world and be seen as a rock star economy .The new measure of a great economy is homelessnes and poverty ,the worse they are the better the economy must be .The rich scum would agree with that

  11. Another example of this open and transparent government. They have been bought and paid for by Big Money and now they are delivering what was ordered without a single vestige of shame.

    1. National have nothing to be ashamed about Spending government money wisely is good news after the Labour years of bloated public service spending .The millions KO have spent with nothing to show of it is a crime.

      1. All of that aside, Kāinga Ora seemed

to be on track to meet a build of 4,800 state houses this year. To date, it has built 14,000 new state houses in six years. By comparison, in the last year of the previous National government led by Bill English, the net achievement was minus 1,500 state houses.
        Gordon Campbell – Scoop

      2. Yeah Trevor, nothing to be ashamed about apart from blatant corruption. They are so drunk with power they don’t even try to hide it.

      3. Trevor has been to the BtF accounting school. Somehow it’s a world where you only look at half the balance sheet. Then when borrowing for tax cuts they buy the bs that they are fully funded. It’s like (as John Clarke told us) towing the ship outside the environment when the front fell off.

      4. “Spending government money wisely”

I reckon a wise government would be reversing the decline in homeownership. When NZ had 90% homeownership crime was lower and social cohesion greater. This government kills the hopes of prospective first home buyers, removing them from the real estate market to the benefit of investor landlords. It was not enough to just help landlords with a $3billion tax break. They are so petty they cut $60 million from first homeowners (and cut the school lunch program).

Landlordism reigns Supreme. This government “For the landlords, by the landlords”.

      5. So in your mind the 100k trade related aprentices who had their fees and half of their wages paid for was a waste of money .Also the doubling of nurses pay and increases for teachers was also a waste of money .Also 5000 extra nurses trained and in the work force .

        1. Could any of those idiots build a house themselves? Or do the plumbing and electrics ? How many are in any way usefully skilled ? Key could barely hit a nail with a hammer. Nicky Hager who exposed their dirty politics in a book of the same name, built his own house on Wellington hillside. Key disparaged Hager – who also revealed the NZDF terrorising subsistence peasants in the Tirigan Valley – as a conspiracy theorist, but he got that wrong.

Algorithms, and dehumanising people into economic units can also be wrong.
