Biden plans to send $8bn arms shipment to Israel

The US Department of State has notified Congress of a planned $8bn (£6.4bn) arms sale to Israel, an American official has confirmed to the BBC.

The weapons consignment, which needs approval from House and Senate committees, includes missiles, shells and other munitions.

The move comes just over a fortnight before President Joe Biden leaves office. Washington has rejected calls to suspend military backing for Israel because of the number of civilians killed during the war in Gaza.

In August, the US approved the sale of $20bn in fighter jets and other military equipment to Israel.

Israel is considering limiting humanitarian aid to Gaza after Donald Trump comes into office later this month in a bid to deprive Hamas of resources, according to an Israeli official familiar with the matter.

…I was reticent to use the term Genocide initially to describe what Israel is doing to the Palestinian people, but as we stare down the deaths of almost quarter of a million Palestinians within a year of conflict alongside repugnant war crime acts by the IDF of rape, torture and civilian deaths, the term Genocide barely manages to encompass the disproportionate cruelty being meted out by Israel.

Throughout all of this, American has stood fast in supporting Israel’s war crimes and Biden’s last act to push another $8billion into Netanyahu’s real time ethnic cleansing war crime stains him, America’s honour and the entire Democratic Party.

The West, but refusing to reign Israel in, has lost any pretence of the moral high ground.

In NZ, we must win back power and in the first 100 days dump the visa provisions we entitle Israel with because allowing our country to be a rest and recreation space for Israelis who have committed war crimes is an abomination to our mana as a culture and a people.

The damage that America and Israel have done to their reputations with the next generation watching Palestinian children mutilated on TikTok will haunt both nations forever.

May Biden, and every Israeli propagandist, burn in hell.

All those billions spent murdering people in another country while millions of people live in poverty at home .When will the USA stop enabling the killing of innocent people around the world .They are just feeding the arms industry by giving out weapons to whom ever wants to destroy another country or race .

    1. In this particular example the US will only stop when Jewish money and influence is taken out of media and politics. So like never. Of course it could end under Trump but that will probably only occur if lets the Israeli administration steal what land is left. That’s pretty much why they are decimating Gaza now.

    2. Its business and the US is in the business of making money for the financial backers of their political class. The people, whether it be at home or abroad, don’t matter. A key point that never sees the light of day. Its all about money and this blind devotion to money making will not end until either the ‘don’t matter’ class rise up to challenge this (which is nay on impossible given the stranglehold their mainstream media and their political class has on public opinion) or this pursuit of money comes up against an entity, a people, that refuses to become a cash cow for US business and financial interests. We all know where this latter point is heading, unfortunately.

    There are many financial connections around the world with Israel, “business is business” when it comes to the arms, tech and other industries it seems.

    I’m 71 yrs old and now feel ashamed that in the mid 1970’s I worked on a Kibbutz to support this State, which has become a murderous tyranny, under its current Government.
    If I was 21yrs old as I was then, I would be going to help the people in Gaza.
