Despite China’s declarations of No First Use, NFU – in the event of armed conflict with the US, PLA strategy allows a nuclear response to any attack on Mainland China, especially if modern conventional weapons that approach the destructive power of nuclear weapons are used.

If they’re sending the Virginia class then yes, it will be nuclear armed.
