  1. Obviously WaterCare have not been keeping Auckland’s Infrastructure up to First World Standards ???

Another Auckland Super City F**k Up, thanks to ACT and Rodney Hide.

    1. Or perhaps we could vlame tge Labour mayors who have been in charge for the vast bulk of time since the supercity was formed.

      1. So to use you analogy, Nact would be responsible for all todays ills. That would be true.

  2. Can’t disagree. The proof is right there, Te Whatu Ora and Te Pukenga have sorted health and vocational education.

    1. The underlying problems in the Heath System stem from years of under funding and it sure hell isn’t anything to do with Māori representation.

    2. Yeah – because the real word is dead simple and Te Whatu Ora could’ve got it sorted in about a week if they’d stopped being ‘woke’ eh?

  3. Vote for nats, act and nz first at your peril. Too many NZers have short memories and are bloody ungrateful of our covid response. Racism is on the rise and it needs to be called out breaking into someone’s house is disgusting. Who ever did this needs to be found and prosecuted severely send a message this is no acceptable. Neither is the assault on the labour candidate in Inglewood.

  4. As a sometime critic of the various political illiterates, trolls, and general fuckwits that post here with one sentence contributions…I am kinda joining their ranks…once only offer…on the Parnell Sink hole

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

If “Parnhell” as Metro Magazine tabbed it in the 80s, can have infrastructure collapses just like the poorer ’hoods, might it be wake up time? 3 waters was significantly about crumbling, dangerous or limited infrastructure–which right wingers could not bring themselves to acknowledge. Heh, even Queenstown has had a dose of “crypto” and everyone is now on bottled water–hope the van sleeping service workers can afford it.

  5. Probably didn’t go into the Water Care Accounts, just went into the General Fund for increased salaries for the overpaid Executives warming the seats in the Council Chambers ???

  6. As far as Aucklands woes go we can blame the Labour mayors Len Brown amd Phil Goff who appear to have been asleep at the wheel over the last decade plus…

    1. Most of Auckland’s infrastructure woes go back to the post-WW2 period when the First Labour government’s plans for a high-density city built around rail transport hubs was torn up by the National Party to reward their road builder, land-banker, property developer, car importer and oil company donors and cronies. That’s a major part of how we got insanely expensive sprawl and perpetual fiscal constraints that have prevented adequate infrastructure maintenance and refresh.

      1. Smashed Cricklewood to bits with those facts.
This problem is under Browns watch, end of.

    2. Cricklewood, what exactly did the other mayors do to expedite rebuilding the city’s aged infrastructure that the Labour mayors didn’t?

  7. 3 waters is potentially a good idea so why bundle it up with co governance and turn it into a bad idea, I don’t get it, unless it was some weird way of preventing future privatisation maybe

    1. Because the Waitangi Tribunal has said that Maori have an interest in water..

And frankly, I’m OK with that because I don’t think their default behaviour will be rent-seeking. And if they do turn out to be Maori capitalists who default to rent-seeking and unearned wealth extraction like non-Maori business people, then that’s just the equality of opportunity to exploit. And then we’ll need to stop it whoever does it.

    2. Daniel. The whole lack of transparency of Ardern’s government, with secret agendas like the massive Te Puapua tome, probably helped fuel water issues into being a race issue- and yet another divisive diversionary dynamic.

  8. Cricket wood that’s the first thing Winnie will do when he is foreign minister.

Remove Mallard and x Auckland Mayor Goff from there cushy taxpayer funded overseas holiday homes. To come home to clean up the sewers mess they left.

    1. Marco + Battler Indeed. Mallard and Goff being rewarded for being mediocre lackeys is sickening, and a kick in the teeth to diligent responsible citizens. Trevor Mallard’s role in escalating the Parliamentary Protest should exclude him from the company of the good and the wholesome. Ireland deserves better, and so do we.
