Big Gay Out: Corrections won’t attend after rainbow community shares safety concerns
Staff from the Department of Corrections are no longer planning to attend Auckland’s Big Gay Out on Sunday after members of the rainbow community said they felt unsafe with them being there.
In 2018, a controversial decision was made to ban New Zealand Police from wearing their uniforms at the annual Pride Parade.
This led to police pulling out of attending at all.
…the list of triggers that trigger are so long I’m feeling triggered by all the triggering.
The woke mantra of pure temple politics over rules broad church community once again.
What a slap in the face to the queer Corrections staff who were so keen to participate.
I remember the inclusive family orientated rainbow community of the 90s and 00s how that welcoming love won over so many hearts. I see the modern woke mutation it has become which includes by excluding and it feels a lot less celebratory and far more puritanical.
I loved taking my daughter to Big Gay Out because it used to be so inclusive.
What a sad indictment on the cancel culture of today.

Please please, where’s that bloody virus when we need it? That’d give this lot something else to think about: they’ve obviously got too much time on their hands.
The current LGBT+ movement claims to be inclusive while being exclusive. And they exclude any LGBT people who don’t mindlessly support their gender woo-woo ideology.

while lesbians report getting kicked off because they say they are same-sex attracted, not same-gender attracted.
Those of us who marched in LGB protests at a time when we could have lost our jobs for being reconciled, are now not welcome if we don’t sign up to the whole clusterfuck of gender woo-woo. Women who say things like “lesbians don’t have penises”, are told we are not welcome at Pride.
It’s a neoliberal movement spawned in the US, and transported internationally – it’s not homegrown
