Chlöe Swarbrick’s tour of Left Intelligentsia – economic justice vs social justice in an age of social media hate algorithms

Dr Incremental, the thought magician who screamed at Labour to be incremental throughout their sad 6 years of early anything has written a column for the middle class Spinoff listing Chlöe’s meeting with the Left Intelligentsia of Europe…
When Chlöe met Corbyn – and Varoufakis and Piketty and Polanski and Mazzucato and…
It was, one of her Instagram followers declared, “a tour of legends”. Another described it as “a full bingo card”. And it does look as if, on her recent European trip, Chlöe Swarbrick met everyone there is to meet on the political and intellectual left.
The list of figures the Greens co-leader encountered during two weeks in September was imposing. Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. Newly appointed UK Greens leader Zack Polanski. Mariana Mazzucato, one of the world’s most-cited economists. Fellow economic superstar Thomas Piketty and his wealth-tax offsider Gabriel Zucman. YouTube sensation Gary Stevenson of Gary’s Economics. Manon Aubry, the leader of the European Parliament’s Left bloc. Economist, ex-politician and left-wing idol Yanis Varoufakis. Guardian columnist George Monbiot. Influential economist Daniela Gabor. And plenty more.
…anytime Dr Incremental says anything I shiver in fear that his incrementalism will reassert itself the millisecond Labour win power so the meaningless drivel of Labour’s Wellington Mandarins can re-establish control…

…the forces of incrementalism and mediocrity are massive inside Labour, and all they hope for is that this Government are so awful that voters will simply elect Labour without Labour having to promise anything.
Those forces merely want to manage NZ slightly less crueler than National.
That’s why Chlöe is so essential in a any mix to make the next Government do something meaningful, the problem is the Greens own middle class woke activists wedded only to subjective feelings about their identity were one of the major factors that drove voters from the Left in the first place.
The Left Intelligentsia that Chlöe met with all know one thing, that the Left have to be materially relevant to the working classes.
When the working classes turned to us for political solutions to their cost of living pain, all we had was lecturing on gender.
Not one poor person was sitting around the kitchen table cancelling each other for misusing pronouns, they are trying to pay the bills.
The danger of woke middle class identity politics replacing class left analysis is that the politics devolve into a micro aggression deplatforming campaign that alienates rather than builds solidarity against free market capitalism.
The true demarcation of power in a democratic capitalist state is the 1% richest + their 9% enablers Vs the 90% rest of us.
Identity Politics simply cements into place a caste system of intersectionism alongside a terminal tribal affiliation to your skin colour, gender or identity.
There needs to be far more common ground and shared values.
We need to remove the yoke of taxation from the 90% and reset it to the 10% richest.
The minefield of social justice and it’s never ending pure temple deplatforming of everything that triggers it will only drive people further from the Left in an intense economic downturn because you can’t eat virtue signalling aesthetics.
600,000 Kiwis need food banks each month while the Top 1% own 25% of wealth while the Bottom 50% owns 2% of wealth!
This debate is how the Class Left rip the talking stick away from the Wellington Twitteratti and the alienating woke activists.
Broad Church over Pure Temple every day!
We need to be kinder to individuals and crueller to Corporations.

Chloe for government is a no brainer .
Opposition is where she is more comfortable, all talk no responsibility.
What would Cloe learn from Corbyn he did not have a great track record as a leader and then he got booted out of the party .
Trevor – Then he, Corbyn, attempted to start a new political party, that fell over…
Chloe is not a serious contender for a senior government position such is her naivety.
