I was furious to read that two ‘Destiny Church-related entities’ owe a combined $5m to IRD! You have to be joking – how and why has this unpaid debt been allowed to amass and does this mean they can walk away from this huge debt? When ordinary Joe Bloggs struggles to pay a few thousand $’s our IRD hound them and even remove it from their bank accounts! Why is there one rule for some while others get away with “theft from the people” and it is theft. I EXPECT these entities to pay every last cent! Come on, we all know Tamaki has a stash of money and assets conned from his loyal followers. So do tell the NZ taxpayers from where and how this money will be paid back in FULL! This is happening way too often in NZ and often deliberately engineered by many who have then had their debts wiped. FGS Destiny already get ‘charity status’ which is also wrong. One rule for all IRD and how about the wealthy churches begin to contribute?
