The general election will be held on November 7, 2026, giving voters a deadline for Christopher Luxon’s career as a one-term Prime Minister.

“We must ensure this Government’s reign is as short-lived as it is short-sighted” says Te Pāti Māori co-leader Rawiri Waititi.

“Christopher Luxon’s legacy will be leading the most anti-Māori, anti-worker, and anti-environment government Aotearoa has ever seen. His attempts to whitewash our national identity has failed, his agenda to plunder Aotearoa on behalf of his wealthy donors will end on November 7” Waititi said.

“The pain this government has inflicted on our communities and our taiao will be felt for generations” says co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer.

“Aotearoa cannot afford another term of this government. If we do not change the government, poverty and the environmental desecration will be entrenched as a normal part of life in Aotearoa” said Debbie Ngarewa-Packer.

With the election date officially announced, the power is now in our hands. Māori will determine the formation of the next government.

A strong Māori turnout will change the direction of this country for generations.

The government has banned people from enrolling to vote within 13 days of an election, so it is critical that you enrol to vote today.

A vote for Te Pāti Māori is a vote to change this government. It is a vote to end poverty, exploitation, and to heal our relationship with one another.

Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti must stand as one to protect what it is that makes us Aotearoa.
