Look at the break down in Labour vote to appreciate where the NZ Left needs to go this election to throw National, ACT and NZF out…

…The break down of where Labour lost votes from is fascinating and identifies what Labour needs to do to win back 2026.
Firstly the Left lost men. Haemorrhaged them. Turns out woke dogma promoted by identifiably left activists like, โAll men are rapistsโ was a bit of a mood killer for male voters.
Secondly the largest amount of voters lost were those who were so heart broken by Jacindaโs incrementalism that they didnโt bother voting at all.
Thirdly the second largest amount was National voters, people who voted for Luxon in the hope their house price would go up by 10%. These are voters who had no idea they were voting for a race war and giving tax breaks to Tobacco.
Fourthly, the Third largest was Greens, mostly from Aucklandโs middle class suburbs.
Fifthly, NZF took the fourth largest chunk and is the reason Winston is cruising so high in the Polls.
Sixthly, Labour lost Auckland.
How to win them back:
Men โ The new wave of male political podcasts are leading the drive here to promote a space for men on the Left that they can participate in minus the culture war alienation. BHN has created a whole new late night live online talk back for the hard left and it is winning hearts and minds.
Those too heart broken to vote โย They feel so disappointed and let down by Labourโs incrementalism, it will take a huge deal for them to vote again, it will have to be a big ticket item like free dental care.
Those who voted National โ There voters are genuinely appalled at this Government despite voting for National. They are spooked by the Mฤori Party but are cosmopolitan enough to be very comfortable with a Pepeha or even a song. Are looking for stability from Labour.
Those who voted Green โ The middle class suburbs that are traditionally Labour voted Green because their wealth tax was far more ideologically appealing. Labour needs to have a strong left wing platform (free dental, free public transport, CGT), if they do that they can take back a lot of that Auckland Green vote, which wouldnโt be a bad thing because past 15 on their Party list, Greens candidates sure do get flakey.
Those who voted NZF โ We are never getting them back and Labour needs to understand their sectarianism. These are the protesters that Trevor Mallard radicalised on Parliamentโs lawns. They are NEVER coming home to Labour. EVER! Labour have permanently lost 5% of the vote because of the stunts Mallard pulled. NZFs mix of redneck cracker philosophy alongside the sexual excitement generated whenever Winston or Shane attacks immigrant MPs, environmentalists or the Treaty mark them out as racist conspiracy theorists who should be avoided at all cost. Their culture war boomer electorate will never turn from their bigotry or petty prejudices. They can not be reasoned with, nor should anyone ever try! The moment you hear a family member is voting NZF, cut them off immediately and sow the space between you with salt. The next time a pandemic occurs that kills Boomers and leaves everyone else ok, we should just let God do his work. The good news is that the millisecond Winston dies, this cult of personality will die too because most culture war boomers are so socially isolated now that they donโt have the emotional skill set to like new things. Once Winston is gone, NZ First is buried with him and lots of culture war boomers will fill that empty space by getting crypto scammed.
Auckland โ Auckland bore the brunt of Covid. We stayed locked down so the rest of the country could scramble to vaccinated. All Labour gave is in return was GST off our fresh fruit and vegetables, it made us feel like our sacrifice was a joke to Labour. They need some big Auckland centric plan like free public transport and free dental to bring them back to the fold (while taking back some Green vote)
Anyone who voted ACT – NZFirst voters are lonely old racists scared by eclipses, where as ACT supporters are gleefully willing sadists who burn books with relish and ideological zeal. Most NZFirst voters wouldnโt know what ideological meant, or zeal. What you can excuse in the celebration of ignorance that is NZFirst voters you canโt ignore in the wilful malice of ACT voters. If you are still willing to buy into the race war, public service mutilating, zionist appeasing libertarianism that ACT have displayed over the last 2 years, you are corrupted and infested beyond reason. Aggressive use of napalm is the only solution here.
Forget NZF + ACT voters, NZ Left must win over National voters and non vote to win 2026.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, soย if you value having an independent voice โ please donate here.

Why does this CoC allow Luxon anywhere near a camera or microphone? He is a collosal bore, has no idea how to be a PM and fawns over the lunatic, Trump at every turn! When they are ready, soon, the Left need to come up with the very best policies they can and too damn bad if they promise something they can’t deliver as that has been the norm for the CoC enablers so long as there was something big in it for them, which clearly was the case. OMG the blatant GREED and STUPIDITY! The Left should now be visiting and encouraging their voters to make sure they turn up to the polls, and regularly ensure THEIR RECORDS are still there, accurate and intact!!! If male voters still want to sulk, then go and waste your vote on National. For those too ‘broken hearted’ to vote โ grow up and rejoin the ‘real world’. It must be patently clear by now, that climate, our economy, health and housing, in fact our whole survival, are at stake this coming election.
Chippie will win in a landslide
Sorry chippie is still a neo liberal centrist.
An interesting fact I learnt on Monday night on my chch central Greens zoom meeting.
most of the vote for Kahurangi Carter and the greens in chch central in 2023 were young folks and women.
20% of that vote were young people.
fact is the Young folks are going green not red.
the greens are the only Centre left party with progressive policies that have been built on over the last 3 elections.
I am picking chch central will go green not red this year.
So chippie wont win in a landslide.
I see the National party already have billboards on our Wellington motorway and some of the right-wing voters have been running around vandalizing signs people have put up in Hutt Valley community why can’t they put their own signs up instead of resorting to vandalizing other people’s signs.
Too many NZers are struggling under the current government and the sorted are getting richer by the day while many are struggling to pay for the basics like rent, power rates, insurance and food making matters worse. We also have low job security and wages. And the trade deal with Indian will see more immigration at a time when jobs are already hard to get, not a good idea in these difficult times.

The holiday break has invigorated you MB. Six points not far from the ways things are.
For first time in my life am considering not voting – although National and their cronies are disgusting- afraid that Labour won’t make blind bit of difference with Hipkins as leader about as inspiring as watching paint dry
