Gaza‘s growing death, injury and illness

29 December – 30 December 2025:

Totals since 7 October 2023: killed 71,266 – wounded 171,222

The total wounded is now at least 171,222. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 87 and, that of those injured, is more than 210. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

UN agencies continue to emphasise the importance of predictable and unimpeded access, increased supplies and sustained funding for a transition from emergency to early recovery efforts in Gaza.

Solid waste management efforts are constrained, with waste generation exceeding collection capacity in several areas due to the lack of access to landfills, damaged infrastructure, fuel shortages, and restrictions on the entry of essential equipment and spare parts, according to the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Cluster.

Airstrikes, shelling and gunfire continue to be reported across the Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties. In one incident, on 19 December, Palestinian Civil Defense (PCD) reported that at least five people were killed when a school, sheltering internally displaced persons (IDP), was hit in At Tuffah, in eastern Gaza city, west of the “Yellow Line.” The Israeli military remains deployed in over 50%of the Gaza Strip, beyond the “Yellow Line” which remains largely unmarked on the ground and where access to humanitarian facilities and assets, public infrastructure and agricultural land are either restricted or prohibited. West Bank

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded – 3 taken prisoner in refugee camp: Ramallah – 04:55, Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, raided the Al-Amari refugee camp, invading homes and wounding a resident, Muhammad Iyad Muhammad Mima, as well as taking prisoner three others.

Israeli Army attacks: Jenin – Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, continued their incursions into the city and the refugee camp.

Israeli Army attacks – home invasions in refugee camps: Tulkarem – the Israeli Army, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters, continued to storm the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, invading and occupying homes, for use as military posts.

Israeli Army attack – 3 wounded: Qalqiliya – 20:10, Israeli troops opened fire, from the Annexation Wall near the Eyal checkpoint, wounding three people, Salim Issam Daoud, Muhammad Jihad Jallad, as well as Thabet Muhammad Nimr Qaqoura, who was subsequently hospitalised.

Home invasion and demolition: Jerusalem – Israeli Occupation forces demolished a home, in the Silwan neighbourhood.

Home invasions: Ramallah – 04:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh and invaded several homes.

Home invasions – 6 taken prisoner: Salfit – 01:15-05:40, Israeli Occupation forces raided Bruqin and searched eight homes, taking prisoner six people.

Home invasions and beatings-up of both young and old: Bethlehem – 18:00, Israeli Occupation settlers invaded the outskirts of Khala’il al-Luz village, stoning homes and severely beat-up two residents: 14-year-old Mustafa Abu Jalghif andIbrahim Ahmed Hassan Abayat (aged 80).

Home invasions and population–control: Bethlehem – 01:55-06:40, the Israeli Army raided the town of Tuqu, searching houses and interrogating 15 residents.

Israeli police and settlers’ mosque violation: Jerusalem – 08:00, Israeli settlers, escorted by Occupation police, invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and molested worshippers.

Israeli Army assault with stun grenades: Ramallah – 07:10, Israeli Occupation forces, in the Al-Khalil area, south of al-Mughayir village, fired stun grenades at international solidarity activists providing protection from settler attacks for farms in the area.

Israeli Army – 1 taken prisoner: Ramallah – 20:20, Israeli forces took prisoner a man, Ahmad Abdullah Musa Othman, at the entrance to the town.

Occupation settler violence and vandalism – homes and olive trees damaged: Jerusalem – 18:00, Israeli Occupation settlers invaded the Khallat al-Sidra community, near the village of Mikhmas, assaulted people with batons, stones and pepper–spray. Two residents, Munir Khader Kaabneh and Youssef Muhammad Kaabneh, were injured and the settlers damaged a number of homes and solar panels. One motor vehicle was also damaged and a number of olive trees had their branches severed.

Occupation settler theft: Nablus – 08:10, Israeli settlers raided the outskirts of Beit Furik and stole a stove from in front of a shop.

Occupation settler vandalism: Nablus – 13:30, Occupation settlers vandalised a greenhouse, in the village of Beit Dajan.

Occupation settler stoning: Nablus – 19:10, Israelis, from the Eli Occupation settlement, stoned passing vehicles at the nearby petrol station.
