Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Bertrand Russell makes grand pronouncements and they seem very true, all of them. That can’t be possible, so could we set up an enquiry on his quotes this year, to winkle out ideas that might lead us to more intelligent outcomes from the 2026 election which is set to be ground-breaking. We must achieve, or be left to the earth beneath us crumbling away at the planet’s speed which is becoming faster! We must think faster and harder too.

    So here from Bertie:
The ancient world found an end to anarchy in the Roman Empire, but the Roman Empire was a brute fact, not an idea. The Catholic world sought an end to anarchy in the church, which was an idea, but was never adequately embodied in fact. Neither the ancient nor the medieval solution was satisfactory – the one because it could not be idealized, the other because it could not be actualized. The modern world, at present, seems to be moving towards a solution like that of antiquity: a social order imposed by force, representing the will of the powerful rather than the hopes of the common men. The problem of a durable and satisfactory social order can only be solved by combining the solidarity of the Roman Empire with the idealism of St. Augustine’s City of God. To achieve this a new philosophy will be needed”

Putin is said to be spying on the others! Dastardly. Brazenly. What about USA doing similarly and have done so for decades… See Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.

How two nations can react against each other, separated by a common lack of understanding about their own culture and reality, and those of the other. It is
shocking looking at real life for poorer people. Egypt is criticised and I sense an echo of the feelings of many also visiting USA ground.

What to do with your excess money, save a bit, and then assist some commercial program run by the community in your locality and get smiles for interest! The interest you get on your savings gets taxed and doesn’t match inflation. So… what about it? Don’t just give it to charities, take a personal interest and you will find it more rewarding than what you get from the pursed lips of gummint. They just look forward to the next election and the positions that may be available to them in the future.

At one local op shop, accountants won’t allow them to run cut price nights, specials nights, haggle nights etc at all. Probably just a short clearing sale at the end of a season when people don’t need anything they are offering anyway. Charity is helpful, but often mean with its ways and prices for things it gets given free.. The object of charity is to raise finance for their needs, but the opportunity to help people in need who are their poorer customers is not always taken up.
