Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. RNZ news, two days ago:

“I think that it’s really time that this government, and successive governments, put the Treaty where it belongs, which is at the forefront of all their decisions that are made, that impact on Māori. And at the moment, they’re basically saying, we don’t have to do that, we are sovereign. I’m not disputing the fact that we have a sovereign government, but I am disputing the fact that they cannot be sovereign without taking into consideration Te Tiriti o Waitangi. And right now, they don’t care, and they have behaved and acted as if the rights of Māori do not matter, Te Tiriti does not matter.”

The above relates to the elimination of the fledgling Maori Health Authority, and was part of a speech made to the UN-CERD in Geneva.

If someone comes to you, people who know, actual doctors not just zealots and cynical vote manipulators, and basically say, “Here’s the stats, here’s the analysis, here’s what we are better than completely sure will fix these intransient intergenerational health issues. Give us 50 years and a special authority and we can do it.” And you wait 18 months and cut them off, then you’re the kind of self important person who hates anyone that isn’t you.*

It’s not about racial discrimination. It’s about Nationhood. We could have been the first people in recorded history to have reached the source from which all the nasties of poverty spring, and these politicians said no? That isn’t politics. These people aren’t representatives of the Crown proper. They are the kind of people who ran rampant during the 12th century and were usually caught and hung for treason. I get the trend of stating everything bad for maori is borne from colonialism, you can hold that view, but it won’t sell. Not to the people who you need on your side. You don’t have to convince me, I knew what it all meant way back when, and celebrated. The people you need on side won’t be impressed with anything UN right now. Look around. That’d be like trying to win the women’s vote by going to talk to human traffickers. So get in some shopping, taste some real coffee, have a bit of a holiday, then come back and re-examine your strategy.

*One of these people is still useful. I know it grates. You don’t have like him, you don’t have to agree with him, but that’s how it is.

This is serious. Firefighters are more important than police and do almost twice as much good. Fire is fire and needs cool and not hot heads to deal with it. No quick fixes and there is no easy outs for mistakes.

And the likelihoods of fire is growing probably exponentially. Badly managed foresting, badly housed people, toys and vehicles with flammable batteries in them, inhuman treatment of vulnerable humans can lead to hates and destruction through fires, careless behaviour leading to fires, strong winds spreading fires to max out. I don’t know how much work is going into advancing exotic timbers as well as natives that are resistant to catching fire. There are some that have growth that is less flammable and can be seen remaining after fire has swept through a wooded area.

I stand up for fire fighters, and in comparison would throw mud pies at politicians no matter how nice they may be to me. We can never trust them to withstand the lure of money and being cuddled up to by those who want a say in laws and conditions to be favourable to them. Politicians now adopt the frozen statue position when asked to do anything. But that is a child’s game, Statues, and for adults to play it is not farcical but fraudulent. They can’t stand up to the heat — as firefighters can – and should ‘get out of the kitchen.’ I don’t like what they are cooking up and they are trying deliberately to destroy New Zealand so they can smile gleefully and announce that we are hopeless as a viable country and have to be sold off to efficient businesses from around the world, with the pollies and their stooges getting a nice percentage and perks as a lucrative sidleline. sic.
