ACT MP asks Parliament to limit use of โgenocideโ when describing Gaza war
Despite being in a party committed to freedom of speech, Simon Court asked Parliamentโs Speaker to consider restricting the use of the word โgenocideโ to describe whatโs happening in Gaza.
ACT MP Simon Court has tried and failed in his bid to seemingly prevent MPs from using the word โgenocideโ in the debating chamber when referring to Israelโs war in Gaza.
Court raised the matter with Speaker Gerry Brownlee on Tuesday, saying the use of โgenocideโ risked denigrating the reputation of the House of Representatives.
โThis allegation of genocide is made repeatedly in this House by members of the Opposition, and Iโm concerned it might lead to violence against Jews in New Zealand,โ he told the chamber.
Simon Court seems himself as a free speech champion but like all right wing free speech champions, he is nothing more than a dirty hypocrite.

If they could profit handsomely from backing the Palestinian cause, they’d do it in a heartbeat, but they’ve calculated otherwise and so Acacia O’Connor is being binned because she believes the wholesale slaughter of Palestinians is wrong and that doesn’t gel with the image OneNZ prefers to present to the world. Clearly they care more about Winston Peters broken window than they do about genocide.
